Other Some Additional Achievement/Advancement Ideas!

Terrarian
I really enjoy going for Terraria's achievements, and nothing would make me happier than to see some, if not all of these come to the game!

  1. "A Fine Concoction" - Craft your first potion.
  2. "Feeling Crafty" - Combine two or more accessories at a Tinkerer's Workshop.
  3. "Filthy Rich" - Obtain your first platinum coin.
  4. "Pinkdigestion" - Transfigure and consume every permanent Shimmer buff.
  5. "Let There Be Light!" - Obtain The Terraprisma.
  6. "Wildlife Biologist" - 100% complete The Bestiary.
  7. "Expert of Worlds" - Complete Terraria in Expert Mode.
Sometimes during my playthroughs, I do some of these and wish there were a way to show it! I think they'd be a welcome addition.
I think a few of these have already been suggested, but I hope you enjoyed my title concepts. Wasn't too sure about the last one but let me know your thoughts!
I've added a couple more, of which I think would benefit a newer player especially. I suspect some players don't even know you can craft potions or combine acessories, and these would definitely help them progress if seen in the achievement list.

I am in support of 1, 2, 3, and 4. 5 seems odd when thos is a game that foesnt force you to be really good at the game and that the amount of people that can 100% the game would need a higher skill level.

Ay, I'm glad and thanks for the feedback. Regarding the fifth one, I did also think that, so maybe it could be for Expert mode as most people consider that to be the definitive way to play nowadays? I'm not sure though... it was kinda an afterthought and I wouldn't be fussed if that one were to be kept out. I do understand how a casual player may become fustrated, so yeah good point.

I think that an acheivement for expert mode is alot better than an achievement for master mode. And i totally agree, what would it be called?

I think these are pretty good. Although, instead of 100%ing the Bestiary, I'd say have the achievement be for the Universal Pylon, since it's practically the same thing but is slightly more specific.

Ah yeah, that's a cool idea actually

I thought that was exclusive to journey mode

Not really a fan of the completing expert mode and getting terraprisma achievements because I feel like terraria doesn't really do achievements that demand mastering execution and more often leans into either grindier ones or stuff that's easy but out of the way, but all the other ones I'm a massive fan of!
An important note with 100% bestiary that a lot of people don't realize is that you don't actually have to reveal all information about an enemy for the bestiary and zoologist to count it as completed, so you only need to kill 1 of every enemy to max out the bestiary rather than an amount similar to banner count. It's a significantly less grindy task than people realize and tons of fun to set up ;)

The worst part about bestiary completion is the halloween skeleton variants imo, since without setting your clock you need to defeat the pumpkin moon every time you want to farm them, and in hardmode, skeleton spawn rate is greatly reduced so they hardly ever show up. Add in the fact that there's 3 of them and it's super annoying to get them.

Yeah that's fair. If skeleton statues worked with the costumes it would be an easy fix.

"Expert of Worlds" - Complete Terraria in Expert Mode.
I'm fine with all of your ideas except this. I don't think Terraria should force you to play a certain mode - and this does that.

I completely understand that, and I expected some questioning about that idea. That achievement would be fine kept out

For the "Expert of Worlds" achievement, I debated on just removing it, as since I've realised thanks to feedback that it wouldn't feel fair to a casual player. I'll keep it for now, as it could cause some confusion in the replies. Just know, I've acknowledged feedback and wouldn't mind if it were never added.
