Halt seems to understand at least the concept of a hatch. The problem? It's medieval. How serious? Not big, he just opens it when the pod docks and gets out of the pod.
Thartler and Victoria quickly get out as well, the latter quickly getting their camera working, the latter just looking around the ship as if thinking about finding where is the supposed malfunction.
Victoria in particular seems to feel a bit nervous. "Heh... always the first assignment that causes the most nerves, right? J-just like that one time..."

Victoria did read some sci-fi books, but nothing else. Might have some elementary grasp that may or may not be right.

I doubt sci-fi books contain detailed safety procedures.

Information:
Any time a ship breaks down, they are instructed to put the ship into emergency mode, limiting the ship to essential functions. This includes life support, communications, and shields.
Emergency mode also dims the lights to minimum and turns them off if there is nobody in the room, and they are always off in hallways to conserve power.

(Probably. Then again, the camera's screen would emit small amount of light. Imagine the trio or more just huddling near Victoria like moths to the lamppost.
That may drain its battery fast though.)
