Jerion 'Wyverntamer' Kràl

Empress of Light
Hey TCF, today I am doing something differently from what I normally do, I'm starting up this thread, it will be under construction for at least a few days, and then I'll open it up officially.

Anyways, I'm recruiting, for XCOM. Do you want to be featured and hear, maybe from your representative's perspective, how I :red: up and get the squad killed? Sign up today by saying what class you want to be, what type of armor you want, and what colors should be involved.

Well, it opened up, this will be very similar to @Tsuki's Even Darker, in that you can request to be put in, but I will not immediately use said character. I also advise you to check out the Even Darker thread too. (It's a link)

I will be doing it very similarly to Tsuki, but, I won't post videos. (My laptop is normally already a laggy bastard, on minimum, imagine what it'd be when recording!) I also won't be posting many screenshots, since I have the game on minimum, they probably won't look that good.

I'll mainly be using diary fragments, and the entire thing will have a story behind it all.

The Avenger
The Avenger is the mobile headquarters of our operations, right now, we are in the Eastern USA, or at least, what used to be the USA. Former chief engineer Dr. Shen gave everything to get the ship up and running, but unfortunately, he did not get to see it fly.

Build Rooms
As of right now, only one room has been excavated, and not one thing has yet been build there, Chief Engineer Shen will need more personel to even make building rooms viable.

Proving Ground:
The testing ground where the engineers mess with alien tech to make new weapons.
Resistance Comms:
Increases the maximum amount of communications we can have.
Power Relay:
Built atop an exposed alien power coil, almost doubles the amount of power we can have.

Engineering lab
This is where Chief Engineer Shen will do her wonders, and make all the great new toys that Chief Scientist Tygan has come up with for our soldiers.
Made Items:
  • Utility Items
    • Flashbangs: 1
    • Medikits: 1
    • Smoke Granades: 0
  • Weapons
    • Arc Blade
  • Armor
    • -
Laboratory
This is where Chief Scientist Tygan will do his wonders, and some of the more gruesome stuff, dealing with the aliens' autopsies for example. Here we will find out why the aliens completely and utterly stomped us during the first invasion, and use said knowledge against them... We hope.

Done Research:
  • Autopsies Done: 4
    • ADVENT Stun Lancer Autopsy: Done
    • ADVENT Trooper Autopsy: Done
    • Sectoid Autopsy: Done
  • ADVENT datapads/Alien data caches decrypted: 0
  • Weapon upgrades:
    • Modular weapons: Done
    • Magnetic Weapons: In Progress
  • Armor upgrades:
    • Hybrid Materials: Done
  • Other Research:
    • Psionics: Done
    • Resistance Radio: Done
    • Advent Officer Autopsy: Done

Meet the Crew:

The Commander:
That's me, I'll be directing you all on the battlefield, using the intelligence that you gather, and my own knowledge of the battlefield from the previous 'war'.

Central Officer Bradford
He has always been completely loyal to the XCOM cause, and when the council turned their back on us, he went on the run. A broken man, he gave up all hope, and kept on running from resistance outpost to resistance outpost until he heard a crucial piece of intelligence. He heard where the Commander supposedly was kept, at least for a short while. He got back who he still knew from the resistance, and some new recruits. Together they freed the Commander, with Central actuallly giving the new recruits a run for their money, while he was carrying the Commander!

Dr. An-Yi 'Lily' Shen
Even though An-Yi "Lily" Shen serves as Chief Engineer for XCOM, her ties to Earth's supreme defense force started at a much younger age. She moved to California from Taiwan when she was in grade school, all under the guise of her father accepting an academic position at Cal Tech. This turned out to be a cover story, as her father secretly accepted the position of director for XCOM's entire engineering division.

When the aliens attacked, Shen was only 15 years old. She said goodbye to her father as he departed for XCOM HQ, and would not see him again until XCOM lost the first war. After surviving the initial conflict, the two stayed away from the cities and tried their best to avoid ADVENT while she completed her education. It was exceptionally difficult for Shen when her father passed away, especially since he had yet to complete his life's work: defeating the alien invaders once and for all.

Chief Shen is a results-oriented individual who rarely shies away from conflict and finds it impossible to be complacent; a moment not spent working with her hands is a moment wasted.

Dr. Richard Tygan
Everyone has made mistakes, but nobody feels they have more to make up for than Dr. Richard Tygan, XCOM's Chief Scientist.

Prior to the alien invasion, Dr. Tygan was a biochemist in Earth's lucrative pharmaceutical industry. Once the aliens conquered Earth and toppled all governments, Tygan didn't know what he should do. As the ADVENT administration was established and new cities were erected around the globe, Tygan's curiosity provided him a new purpose: he would seek access to ADVENT. He was then quickly identified for his skills and employed within ADVENT's ranks.

Tygan led one of the earliest Gene Therapy clinics for ADVENT and was impressed with the medical advancements the administration provided. Though Tygan was initially satisfied in his work, as time went on he found himself quite troubled with how ADVENT had applied his efforts. He saw increased control exerted over the human populace and, upon hearing of a growing resistance movement, decided to flee the city and seek out XCOM.

Dr. Tygan is self-assured and confident in his own knowledge and expertise. He can be a bit patronizing at times to those who aren't able to keep up; however, he has the utmost respect for the Commander.

"Well, nice of you to come, welcome to the museum, this is the part where we see the First Attempt's diaries. We say First Attempt, since we do not now if there have been more than one, but these diaries have some of the earliest dates on them. Now, don't hang back, you will get to see all off the pages when we are done. But first we will need to..." "Sir?" The man turned and saw a finger going up, from a little girl on the first line, right behind him. "Yes? What do you want, little girl?" The girl now looked a little shy. "Are we going to see the suit the Commander was found in?" The man looked surprised and whispered something in her ear, after which the girl said no. "Alright, yes, we are going to see that first, then you can look at the diaries."

After a long and boring exposition on what the Commander now really had done, the people began looking for what they were really here, the diary fragments of the First Attempt.

'Day one:

Hello to future readers, the Commander told me that you'd read this, apparently he wanted to sell these diaries to a museum or something when he completed his own challenge. He felt very, very guilty due to what happened at the beginning of the previous 'war'. Central Officer Bradford gave us these, for two reasons, one, selling after the war, as I already wrote, and the second, for keeping us sane. Apparently we cannot be trusted with our own sanity, and all recruits appear to have gotten them, so yeah.

Bullseye55 Epsilon'

'Day thirty:

Well, dear diary, dear diary, I have been asked to go on a mission finally, I didn't know that this base would be so :red:ing boring!'

'Day thirtyone:

Got back, didn't get hurt, flawless mission.

Lieuwe 'Wyverntamer' Roorda'

'Day fifty:

First death in the squad, squad came back looking real down. Asked what happened, got a death glare.

James 'Krasunir' Smith'
