A long time ago, there were many forms of power: Heat, Light, Energy, and Spirits. Spirits, unlike the others, are sentient beings made of power and energy. They can do actions at their own will and choice. They control their movement unlike the others, which bounce of walls and travel in waves and lines.
There were many types of spirits, the most powerful being Light, Night, Flight, Might, Sight, Fright, Blight, Right, Plight, and Fight. Three spirits, are more powerful than the others. One of those three is the Lunar Spirit.
At this time, Cthulhu hasn't attacked yet, and the world is still at peace. The Lunar Spirits, like any other, have a goal in soul, discover new lands and mysteries. Many Groups of them try to discover new homes and survival tactics. On their way, evolving to fit with the environment. Three groups stand out the most.
One group is called the Celestials. They flew off into space and gained new powers, making them more powerful than the other.
They collected fragments of different celestial forces, Solar, Vortex, Nebula, Stardust, Metagalactic, Interstellar, Comet, etc.
They showered the universe with beauty, later becoming chaos, once the Moon Lord arose.
Next were the Ectoplasmic Wisps. Which entered a dungeon out of curiosity.
Unfortunately, their time there as free spirits were cut short once a Fanatic Zealot leading a cult found out about the so called Lunar Spirits. Since Lunar Spirits were related to the Moon, Cthulhu's Cult managed to trap them and connect them to Cthulhu, the future Moon Lord.
Now twisted and corrupted, they became Dungeon Spirits, taking on many forms to serve Cthulhu and bring him back from the moon.
Anything that stands in their way...
Will suffer a horrible fate.
The third were known as Granite Energy. They searched the caves and found many crystals, gems, and ores. They simply observed life there, wishing to become part of it as well. Until they wondered, what would happen if they could possess stone?
After a while, they eventually evolved to be able to possess, losing size at cost. They became the stone elementals.
