Welcome everyone, Zoomo here! I present to you my biggest Idea yet. This will address many things which I feel would Terraria would benefit from to become an even greater game than it is. I will refer to some things from my previous suggestions, so you might want to read those if you haven't already, you can read them [Here]. No seriously, if you don't read them this suggestion will make much less sense. I have been working on it for a while but I would still love to have feedback. Thanks for reading and please enjoy. * * * No I'm serious, go read them before reading any further. Honestly, I don't think that the crimson fits with the hallowed very well. It works really well in the game and is a great alt to corruption... But it just needs something a little bit more thematic to go with it. Many have suggested alts which are interesting ideas, but they don't really fit. So I thought, rather than just think of a cool biome think of something which would oppose the Crimson like the Hallow opposes the Corruption. And what better alternate to a living diseased monstrosity of a biome... than a shining utopia which is clean, bright, and perfect... At all costs. It is a biome which would be filled with futuristic robots and steampunk droids alike. A biome which is devoid of all life, but not inherently dark and evil. One covered in fields of glowing lights, where huge robots have all but become part of the landscape. The Shiny Sleekness of the Cyber would counter the holy light of the Hallow, and work in contrast to the crimson rather than making no sense next to it. I think this would actually add a lot more dimensionality to the crimson. As well as keep hallowed and corruption together how they belong. While adding more content is great. I think that a big thing that needs to be addressed is the disparities between the Crimson and Corruption. In this suggestion I also have introduced some crimson items to fill in the gaps. Another game changing part of the Cyber is the replacement for souls. In the Hallowed and Corruption there are souls, magical essence of powerful creatures. This doesn't really work for Cyber and Crimson though. So instead they have Cores. Much akin to the Frost Cores of the Frost Golem, these are powerful cores found within powerful enemies give them are crafted into new items more fitting to the Cyber and Crimson. Most of them are based around the seven deadly sins however wyvern's will drop a core with a more frost-golem like name. The final part of this suggestion would be the addition of a true use for Adamantite and Titanium Drills. Hallowed and Cyber ore would be scattered throughout their respective biomes with diminishing returns each time the player downs a mech boss. If you think about it, the only attraction of going to the underground Hallow at the moment is for crystal shards. This would make it so that after the mech bosses there is still a reason to go back there. It would increase the longevity of the Mech boss part of the game and add more too the mining portion of the game. Many alternate Hallows have been suggested, however I have been working on this idea since the crimson came out, and I believe this one would really work. I present: Environment The Cyber Is very much like the Hallow. It generates over terrain, doesn't destroy the Jungle, and fights for control with the Crimson. It can only appear in worlds with crimson, appearing upon the defeat of the WoF with the message: "The battle between order and chaos has begun" The Hallow may now only appear in Corruption worlds, and on the defeat of the WoS. One of the big gameplay changing things about this suggestion however is it's new ore. When the the stripes of Hallow & Cyber are placed, Hallowed or Cyber ore will be placed throughout the underground of their respective biomes. this can only be mined with powerful pickaxes though. -Click to enlarge- What you see above is how I think the cyber would look. It's a sleek silvery place with cyan glowing lights dotted throughout the landscape. The skies are cool and foggy, making it almost serene. The Cyber is a utopia, however it is kept that way by it's guardians. Much like in the Hallow, as the player explores they will find the Cyber guarded and maintained by an army of robots with one purpose: Keep anything living out. The sky would be a foggy grey and misty, possibly even blocking the sun out altogether at times. Towering spires and other sci-fi-esque buildings would be seen in the background. and maybe even the bodies of the inactive mechanical bosses. -Click to enlarge- At night the cyber really comes alive. When the sky grows dark, all the little lights in the grass and the huge ones in the trees will glow a beautiful Cyan. At night the music would be slightly less inviting almost eery. With cool clinks, clanks, and hums. the Hallow would have it's own night music as well. When it rains in the cyber the skies get dark, with huge storm clouds and lightning coming off, creating the ominous feeling that maybe you shouldn't be there. Blocks The blocks of the overground Cyber are metallic with little blinking lights and huge glowing bulbs. Deep within the earth it is a boiler however, with lava and steam billowing and crashing through it. * * * Steelwood Tree Found in: The Above-Ground Cyber mineable: Any Axe drops: Steelwood Block notes: * Found Throughout the surface of the Cyber * Steelwood is used for Steelwood armour and Steelwood furniture. * Like the other foliage in the Cyber, The "leaves" glow at night. First there are the sleek shiny enemies which inhabit the surface. They are the guardians of the utopia which is the Cyber. They may seem almost comically streamlined, however they are intelligent and ruthless. Their are the moderators, which fly around surveying their domain. The floaters who seem peaceful at first but will then draw hordes of Cop Bots to attack the player. And drones who patrol the biome by night searching for anything amiss. Once the player gets underground they will face more primal enemies, who care nothing for whether the player is intruding or not. They have been instructed to remove all living things and thus you the player. There are traps in the cyber making it seem like the biome itself is trying to kill the player. With Sawblades, Turrets, and even the beam cores you can harvest. There are also the fearsome Hunter Mechs, who chase after the player by any means necessary. There is a final group of monsters in the underground. The Welders and Oilers. They are the maintenance robots of the cyber, only rarely found anywhere above the lava caverns. Steampunk robots which are programmed only to keep the giant utopia working, they don't care if they hit you, but that doesn't mean they own't mistake you for something needing to be fixed. The cyber is filled with robots, droids, and machines. Read on to learn more about them. * * * Mini Mod & Moderator Max Life: 45/300 Defence: 18/28 Melee: 62(inflicts Silenced)/40(inflicts Silenced) Spawn: Overground Cyber AI: Creeper/Moderator (Moderators act a bit like the BoC however it floats around much like angry nimbus trying to move a small distance away from the player. Mini Mods follow the creeper AI flying back and forth between the player and the moderator) Drops: Miracle Fuel 100% (1-2) Megaphone 1% notes: * Mini Mods and Moderators leave an after image behind them. * They are much like the Cyber alternative to pixies. * However they spawn a bit less commonly * it always spawns with 6-8 Mini Mods * Upon death it will make a small explosion effect, this is purely visual. Floater Max Life: 35 Defence: 15 Melee: 0 Spawn: Overground Cyber AI: Floater (Floats around 2 or 3 blocks above the ground like a pixie. It will wander around in it's non-aggro'd state unless the player gets within a few blocks of it. If this happens a little red flashing light will appear out of it's head and it will vibrate like the titanium armour effect. When it has been aggro'd it acts as a powerful water candle for Cop Bots, making them spawn very commonly. In this state it will also try to fly away from the player and off the screen, it isn't super fast but it will de-spawn the moment it leaves the screen) Drops: Floater 100% (when caught with a bug net) notes: * The are not aggressive, however if the player gets to close a little red light will pop out of their heads and they will try to run away. * When they are sounding their alarm they will act like a powerful water candle for only one enemy, Cop Bots. * Upon death it will make a tiny explosion effect, this is purely visual. * Moderators and Mini Mods Leave an after image when they move. Cop Bot Max Life: 230 Defence: 26 Melee: 60 (inflicts Broken Armour 1/6, inflicts Slowness 1/6) Spawn: Overground Cyber ( in droves but only when a Floater is sounding it's alarm) AI: Herpling Drops: Reinforced Plating 75% Armour Polish 1% Fast Clock 1% notes: * They will hop on their spring-like body towards the player * They always spawn in groups of 1-2 * Cop bots are more or less the Cyber equivalent to Unicorns * They will only spawn while there is an aggro'd Floater alive Drone Max Life: 280 Defence: 30 Melee: 42 Ranged: 32 Spawn: Overground Cyber (night) AI: Giant Cursed Skull (They will charge at the player but far less frequently than cursed skulls and instead will usually shoot long non bouncing cyan beams, think Heat Ray beams.) Drops: Miracle Fuel 75% (1-3) notes: * Upon death it will make a small explosion effect, this is purely visual. * Drones Leave an after image when they move. Mechanical Mummy Max Life: 200 Defence: 22 Melee: 56 (inflicts Silenced 1/5, inflicts Confused 1/5) Spawn: Desert Cyber AI: Fighter Drops: Orb of Order 10% Trifold Map 1% Megaphone 1% notes: * Like all mummies they get 200% movement speed when below 50% health. * Vibrates like Adamantite armour. Hunter Mech Max Life: 400 Defence: 34 Melee: 28 Ranged: 25 Spawn: Underground Cyber AI: Fighter/Flying (Will try to attack the player by rushing at them like them like a chaos elemental. Sometimes they will fly, causing them to become a flying enemy which acts a lot like an Elfcopter. In this mode they can go through blocks to get to the player and can shoot short ranged (like 8 or 9 blocks) non bouncing cyan beams from their eye. If the player is too high to reach they will also go into flying mode. When damaged they will switch back causing them to fall back to the ground.) Drops: Spacial Instability Drive 0.2% notes: * Upon death they will make a small explosion effect, this is purely visual. * Both the Hunter Mech and it's beams travel through blocks. * When flying they are a much like Elfcopters only they shoot beams and not bullets. SawBlade Max Life: none Defence: none Melee: 60 Spawn: Underground Cyber AI: Blazing Wheel Drops: none notes: * Basically an upgraded Blazing Wheel. * Moves a bit faster than the Blazing Wheel * Does not provide light or inflict on fire. Turret Max Life: 200 Defence: 24 Melee: 80 Ranged: 22 Spawn: Underground Cyber AI: Turret (Can not move, spawns like a plant enemy attached to a block. It fires a stream of bullets when the player is in view. Its firing speed will slowly pick up the long it fires, start rather slow until it fires as fast as elf copters. When not firing its rate of fire will slowly decrease Drops: none notes: * Turrets can't move and instead will just rotate on the block they spawn attached to. * They will begin firing bullets relatively slowly and speed up until they are firing very fast. Cyber Drill Max Life: 200 Defence: 18 Melee: 80 Spawn: Underground Cyber AI: Flying Weapon Drops: Nazar 1% (just using my revamped sprite that actually looks like one) notes: * Acts like other flying weapons. * Based on the Sawdrill. Oiler Max Life: 200 Defence: 32 Melee: 70 Ranged: 58 Spawn: Underground Cyber (uncommonly), Caverns Cyber (twice as common) AI: Spiked Slime (they are like Spiked Slimes in that they will stay in one place while firing their projectile at the player. However rather than shooting a small spike the will shoot out a flamethrower flame. It can shoot at any angle and will only use the flamethrower if the player is close enough to be hit by it.) Drops: Gel 100% (1-3) notes: * Oilers take double damage from burning debuffs. * When killed they will explode into gel like the rest of slimes, however they will leave the flamethrower behind as gore. * They look like they are made of oil. Welder Max Life: 290 Defence: 34 Melee: 70 Ranged: 62 Spawn: Underground Cyber (uncommonly), Caverns Cyber (twice as common) AI: Plant (they will shoot out a flame thrower projectile when the player is within sight.) Drops: none notes: * Welders shoot flame constantly when the can see the player. * Upon death they will make an explosion effect, this is purely visual. Tools & Weapons The Cyber, like the Hallow, has a group of items crafted with a biome specific material. Both also have a set of biome themed gear, Hallowed and Cybernetic. Hallowed armour grants tremendous raw stat bonuses, the Cybernetic gives powerful boosting effects to the player. Next, the underground Cyber's resource. While the Hallowed has crystal shards, pieces of brittle glowing crystal which explode into shards, the cyber has Beam Reactors. Beam Reactors are 2x2 block large spherical orbs, which are fixed to the walls of the cyber. This is fine, however the best part is their lasers. Beam Reactor items are based around beams, therefor I think it only fitting that whenever you get to close the will sometimes try to hit you with cyan Laser beams. They would deal a good amount of damage, but the weapons they make are incredible. Dangerous, but rewarding. Finally in Cyber & Crimson worlds some mech bosses will grant different, less light vs dark oriented items. I have tried to balance them so that they are equal to the mech boss loot of of the Hallowed & Corruption. But please comment below with your thoughts. * * * Banhammer from: Dropped - Wall of Flesh 100% power: 82% Hammer Power tooltip: 'Strong enough to destroy Crimson Altars' Attack Type: Hammer speed: Fast (auto-swings) damage: 20 knockback: high value: 3 gold notes: * I believe the altars in crimson worlds are called Crimson Altars but i'm not sure. * It deals slightly less damage than the Pwnhammer, however it swings fast rather than average. * Able to ban players from servers. * just kidding Cybernetic Repeater from: Crafting - (12) at Mythril Anvil power: none tooltip: 'Arrows leave a trail of damaging cyphers' Attack Type: Repeater speed: Very Fast (autofires) damage: 46 knockback: very low value: 4 gold notes: * Deals less knockback but higher damage. * Arrows leave a small trail of small cypher symbols in the air. * Cyphers will just sit in the air dealing 6 damage to enemies they touch. They shrink until they disappear. Expurgatory from: Crafting - (12) at Mythril Anvil power: none tooltip: none Attack Type: Broad Sword speed: Very Fast (auto-swings) damage: 40 knockback: average value: 4 gold 50 silver notes: * While it's very fast, it would only be just barely very fast speed. As not to make it over powered. * Expurgatory creates small cypher symbols in the air wherever you hit an enemy. * Cyphers will just sit in the air dealing 14 damage to enemies they touch. They shrink until they disappear. Adjudicator from: Crafting - (12) at Mythril Anvil power: none tooltip: none Attack Type: Spear speed: Very Fast damage: 44 knockback: very low value: 4 gold 60 silver notes: * Lower stats may make it seem slightly weaker, however low knockback actually work better for spears * Adjudicator creates small cypher symbols in the air wherever you hit an enemy. * Cyphers will just sit in the air dealing 8 damage to enemies they touch. They shrink until they disappear. True Expurgatory from: Crafting - (1)(1) at Mythril Anvil power: none tooltip: "A weapon of pure Order" Attack Type: Beam Sword speed: Very Fast (auto-swings) damage: 50 knockback: low value: 4 gold 40 silver notes: * Shoots Beam Swords which fire straight like the excalibur and slowly speed up like a demon scythe, leaving a trail of damaging small cypher symbols. * Cyphers will just sit in the air dealing 8 damage to enemies they touch. It shoots a average length non-bouncing Heat Ray like Beam. * The Interesting thing about the Arc Beam is what happens when it hits an enemy. Upon hit, another beam will shoot from the point of contact to the next nearest enemy, creating an effect looking a bit like thunder. * It can arc 8 times. This may be too powerful though. Beam Bullet from: Crafting - (50) (1) at Mythril Anvil (makes 50) power: none tooltip: 'Fires beams at passing enemies' Attack Type: Bullet speed: Average (velocity) damage: 9 knockback: very low value: 6 copper notes: * Beam bullets fire beams at enemies they pass similar to A magnet sphere. * It flies like a normal bullet. * It can shoot up to 6 beams. This may be too powerful though. * Beams deal 40% of the damage from the bullet+gun. Beam Arrow from: Crafting - (50) (1) at Mythril Anvil (makes 50) power: none tooltip: 'Fires beams at passing enemies' Attack Type: Arrow speed: Average (velocity) damage: 10 knockback: low value: 6 copper notes: * Beam Arrows fire beams at enemies they pass similar to A magnet sphere. * It flies like a normal Arrow. * It can shoot up to 6 beams. It flings out music notes a 5 to 6 blocks in random directions from the player. * These notes will travel out that far and then stop. * After that they quickly will begin too spin until spinning very fast and then fling in the direction of the nearest enemy. * They pierce an unlimited number of times. * It will appear when selected in your hot bar like the magic harp. Lightning Rod from: Crafting - (12) (80) (20) (12) at Mythril Anvil power: none tooltip: 'Casts a controllable lightning bolt' Attack Type: Magic Missile speed: Very fast, Very fast (velocity) damage: 68 knockback: low value: 4 gold notes: * Acts like a Magic Missile combined with a vile thorn. * It is a controllable Projectile which leads a trail of damaging segments behind it. * It would look like a long Blue or maybe Yellow lightning bolt.
