Still want a way to gain more max stamina in order to feel like you actually progress , same with durability which needs a max durability increase item imo

Great update still

Exercising = Max stamina increase.
if you add workout items in terraria I can lead my normal life style xD , maybe like food items from other mods decrease stamina ( would be a nice nerf to them imo) while healthy food items improve it slightly ( not as much as exercising would)
[doublepost=1487135370,1487134896][/doublepost]wait .... exercising is already implemented ?

I was thinking a config for the threshold where exercise starts could be good. I want it to be something that I can reach by actively playing without needing to specifically grind for it, so a percentage option could be cool too. I was thinking a mode where if, say, you get to exhaustion twice, it will trigger exercise, but only add 1 stamina, so it will build up more slowly, but also more naturally. No need for long workout sessions, simply running for your life from mobs will get you a bit. Just a thought. I do like how its going, though, much better than when I first tried it. Being able to increase stamina is very nice.

Also rather interesting how summoner is (in vanilla, anyways) one of the hardest classes, and yet with both this and durability, they have the easiest time with the changes. I suppose I chose a pretty good time to finally do my summoner playthrough.

v1.4.2
  • Added config settings for exercising.
  • Lowered threshold before fatigue produces exercise.
  • Added sound + new visuals for exercise.

Could you please also add a config option that would allow certain items to decrease by a certain amount.
For example when itemID 482 (Adamantite Sword) is used the stamina would go down by 20.

I would love to use this mod alongside the Dragonslayer mod.

You caught me at a good time!

Hey hamstar! I am absolutely in love with your mods! They change so many small things that spice up the game so much more! Thank you for being part of the modded community. :D There is one suggestion I have for the Stamina mod in perticular, though. Do you think it would be hard to implement an additional/optional stamina bar under the player? (In the middle of the screen.) Kind of like how Dark-Assassin does it in his "Player Health and Mana bar" mod. I always struggle to look at my health, mana and stamina when they're up in the right corner, so I don't know when I'm out of them.

Anyways, keep up the great work! I love to see the work you put into the mod and the support you give players. Have a nice day/night. :)

Kind Regards, Winter

it looks like a majestic mod! but one more thing... how do i config it and will there be a parkour mod? *while in mid air above water press s to do a dive into water.. if you dont.. its still same like normal terraria the diving is just for show offs =p press s to do a dive and then a safety roll by pressing d TWICE.. from pressing s [sorry for confusion] and then finally which is probly worse idk =p is.. > flips cause why not? double press t [turn off your throw items away from T] to front flip press t once to back flip =p idk
you can change it alittle if you want to =p

Is this still getting updated?
Hopefully soon. Got a bunch of stuff on my plate.

Edit:

  • Added support for Hamstar Helpers v1.2.0 issue report

Hey Hamstar, would there be any chance of seeing cross-compatibility with Terraria Overhaul's Dodge Roll mechanic? As in, having the Dodge Roll use a configurable amount of Stamina? In fact, I'd absolutely love to see a large selection of mod integration (Active abilities from RPG mods using Stamina? Yes please!), but I don't know if it's feasible on your end or if integration would need to come from the other mod authors' mods.

Regardless, I really enjoy your mods. My Terraria's getting awfully close to a more Dark Souls-esque gameplay approach, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Keep up the good work!

Well there's an API with hooks available for mods to do just that! If you follow this guide, you don't even need mod dependency to implement this!

It would take me a while (and a lot of opinionated judgement) to implement stamina on behalf of others' mods, so for now I recommend using the API.
