Steam vs 3DS version?

I own the Steam version of Terraria, but I'd also like to obtain the 3DS version. I'd like to know which gameplay elements are missing in the 3DS port.

Will those be added later on?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend getting the 3ds version. It's mostly just 1.2 (and only 1.2) plus fishing. Even less than the mobile version, which sucks. It's also thirty dollars, which is a lot, seeing the mobile version is five with more content.

Since the Xbox360 won't be updated, but the Xbox One will continue getting supports, will this also be the case for the OLD 3DS while the NEW 3DS gets updates?

Then yeah, I think that they will add as much as possible to both, and then stop like the console versions.
