Items Suggestion for two New NPC:s, Bosses, Items and a new Melee Weapon type "Bludgeon"

Two New NPC:s

(1) The Fallen Archangel: Ever since the angel statue was in the game and how it was treated in some cases as something special I would have liked it to do that. Therefore my suggestion is that you can use it to summon The Fallen Archangel NPC. After performing the necessary steps a bright shining light will be casted from the sky and from this light an angel will appear. For the moment you think you will get this nice and dandy looking angel, but suddenly from nowhere the angel will be struck by a black lightning that will turn her into The Fallen Archangel. Her attire will consist of ancient armour which shares a similar appearance to the armour dropped by the Hoplites and wears a metal mask that conceals her lower face. She has amber coloured eyes and a purple hairstyle that covers one of her eyes, further just like the Party Girl she won’t be affected by the Blood Moon. This female NPC will mostly have a warlike and a blunt personality but will sometimes display a delicate side of herself. She can also be the tallest character in the game where The Fallen Archangel will only move in to a house that has “Tall Gates” instead of regular doors. The NPC defends herself by summoning magical spear projectiles from thin air.

As a vendor… The Fallen Archangel will both sell and reward you powerful weapons & armour that cannot be crafted by the player. Here are some ideas of the items that she can offer to the player:

Yuhgolov Bastard Firearm (Ranged): An AK-47 or “Fedorov Avtomat” inspired weapon (A considered predecessor of the modern assault rifle that was first used in WW1) that can serve as an alternative to the S.D.M.G and Vortex Beater. Except for giving any kind of bullet shot from this weapon a Frostburn effect the Yuhgolov Bastard Firearm will also have a high piercing effect, which makes it excellent for crowd control as well. Can be upgraded into the Silenced Yuhgolov, which will provide the user a lesser chance to be targeted by enemies. Tooltip: “Made through cold steel by a distant empire”

Greyhardt’s Blade (Melee): A Shortsword that can petrify enemies. The weapon itself is based on Milican’s Sword that you can find in the Castlevania series and where the information of this individual namned Milican still remains unknown. Tooltip: “Passed down through generations in Greyhardt’s family… wait who is Greyhardt?”

Encyclopaedia of Warfare (Magic): Another weapon based from Castlevania and is a magical book. The Encyclopaedia of Warfare can be a close ranged magic weapon, where upon using it the book will release magic that has taken the form of medieval weapons. In Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin a character namned Charlotte Aulin uses magical books as her personal weapon.

Mr. Vurkon (Summon): A Robot that has been programmed to defend you at all cost.(The item is based on a device called Mr. Zurkon from the Ratchet & Clank Video game)

Urumi (Whip): A bladed whip like sword that originates from India.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

— By giving The Fallen Archangel either the “Enchanted Bronze Ore” or “Tampered Ironwood Ore” along with other following materials dropped from the new bosses described in a later section below, The Fallen Archangel can make alternative End game Armors for each in game class. These Armors will be known as the High Priest Armor (Summoner), Revered Shaman Armor (Mage), Weta Berserker Armor (Warrior) and Prey Tracker Armor (Ranger).

High Priest Armor: The full set gives the player access to a whip whose damage will increase for every successful hit, but after reaching a certain damage multiplier the effect will reset. The player will gain additional stats if they have summoned any kind of minion or sentry.

Revered Shaman Armor: Will provide the user an overall damage reduction to magic and elemental attacks. However, both melee and ranged attacks dealt by (Arrows/ Bullets) will still pose a high threat to the wearer. Can activate a magical barrier that makes the user immune to any kind of damage.

Weta Berserker Armor: Promotes a more aggressive play style in comparison to the Solar Flare Armor. Killing enemies with all of the Armor pieces equipped will yield health for the player. The Armor also gives the player an ability to cause the “Overwhelming Lethargy” debuff that will slow down enemies and bosses for a short while.

Prey Tracker Armor: Gives the user a damage bonus against enemies if they attack them from a certain range. This alternative ranger Armor also provides “Night Vision” where the user doesn’t have to rely on light pets or potions for better sight in the dark. When the player is running they have a chance to place mines on the ground.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gastraphetes (Ranged): A new Hardmode Repeater that fires high damaging beads and will do additional damage as these projectiles breaks into sharp fragments. The Gastraphetes is an ancient crossbow used by antique Greece.

Meteor Hammer (Melee) An archaic flail used by the Chinese. The weapon can serve as an improvement over the Flairon dropped by Duke Fishron, where the Meteor Hammer will unleash homing projectiles as well.

Onimaru Kunitsuna (Melee): Japanese for “Demon Sword” and where the weapon is said to have killed a demon. A better Katana sword for Hardmode.

Dubstep Gun (Magic): Reference to the same weapon in Saints Row 4.

As a quest giver… The Fallen Archangel NPC will also offer you “Monster Subjugation” quests where you have to slay certain enemies and possibly new enemies before the next day comes. Some of these special enemies will only appear once the quest has been activated.

(2) The Mysterious Barterer: He no… She… Ah forget it! Let’s just refer to The Mysterious Barterer as “it”. This NPC will wear a robe that completely covers their body with addition to a hood that covers her face… [Personal comment: What is wrong with me?] Anyway The Mysterious Barterer is an NPC that will move into a vacant house once you have defeated both the Eye of Cthulhu and either the Eater of Worlds (In a Corruption World) or Brain of Cthulhu (In a Crimson World). The Mysterious Barterer is actually a female although not a human, however not many of the in game NPC:s know that. The Mysterious Barterer will defend itself through swipes by its tentacle appendages.

As a vendor… The Mysterious Barterer will sell a bunch of strange items (accessories or tools) that will give the player advantages or disadvantages… Here are my ideas of the things that The Mysterious Barterer can sell:

-(1) Idol of illumi-nati: Makes the user invisible on the map and negates the effect of the Wormhole potion. The item will not work against members in a team.

-(2) Mask of Shapeshifting: The user can disguise themselves as someone else and the name of their character switches to the name of the person they are disguising themselves as.

-(3) Insidious Orb: An ominous shadow is following you… (Reference to Amnesia: The Dark Descent)

-(4) Onu Reverse Card: When at least two players carries it they can switch places, where the first player will teleport to the location where the second player was while the second player will transport to the prior location of the first player.

-(5) Sacred Hammerstone: When striking Stone blocks with it and other certain block types they will turn into ore instead.

-(6) Neutron Star Circlet: An item that slows you down when equipped. Tooltip: “You are carrying a heavy burden.”

-(7) An accessory that will turn the user into a player sized version of Cthulhu or an other creature from the Cthulhu Mythos.

Boss Summoned in the Desert

(1) Grootslang: A underground Desert boss. Grootslang is the name of an African cryptid (mythical creature) said to reside in a deep cave known as Richtersveld located in South Africa, where it guards its precious diamond gems. Grootslang possesses the traits of both an elephant and a snake. The creature is said to have a supposed lust for cruelty. The items dropped from the boss will be:

Enchanted Bronze Ore
Relentless Cobra (Whip)
Tusk of Grootslang (Melee)
Groot Meat (Material)
Precious Jewel (Mount Item)
Diamond Guardian Staff (Summon)
Elephant Killer (Improved Sniper Rifle)
Shaman Staff (Magic)
Bone Toothpick (Shortsword)
Lever Action Rifle (Ranged)

Boss Summoned in the Tundra

(1) Starved Wetapunga: This gargantuan katydid can never satisfy its hunger only craving for more and more and for the sake of feeding her “adorable” children (Giant nightmarish larvae). The Boss will appear once you cook the meat obtained from Grootslang, Groot Meat, next to a campfire in the Tundra. Upon death the Starved Wetapunga can drop:

Tampered Ironwood Ore
Super Blunderbuss (Stronger than the “Tactical Shotgun”. This ranged weapon can be a reference to the Super shotgun from the Doom video game series)
Wetapunga Blood (Alchemy material for improving the duration of some potions)
Creepy Crawlies Staff (Summon)
Eye of the Katydid (Magic)
Jaw of Voracity (A Melee weapon fashioned from the head of the boss. When swinging it the player will perform jabs and where the weapon does a "biting" attack)
Arm cannon (Reference to Metroid)
Katydid Wings

Two New Mini Biomes
:

(1) Primordial Grotto: A new underground mini biome where Troglodytes (Cave men/women), Sabertooth tigers and Megatheriums (giant extinct sloth species) will spawn. From the enemies you can obtain:

Caveman’s Friend (A Bludgeon melee type weapon. This new melee type will be described later in the text)
Prehistoric Sling (Ranged)
Spirit of The Wild Beast (Summons a Megatherium)
Troglodyte Armor

(2) Jade Cavern: In this mini biome you will be attacked by enemies based from the Chinese mythology Jiangshi (Jumping undead), Terracotta Soldiers and Mischievous Monkeys. The items that you can find in this biome will be:

Guan Dao (Spear)
Chu Ko Nu (A rapid firing Pre-Hardmode Repeater)
Nephrite Wand (Magic)
Imperial Armor

A New Melee Weapon Type: “Bludgeon”
Bludgeon based weapons will be swung similar to a broadsword, but where you will swing the weapon upwards on the first swing and then downwards on the other swing. Shifting between these two attack animations will repeat in a cycle as the user continues to swing the Bludgeon. As for the speed these weapons will be swung much more slower than swords but in addition to that do even more damage. Every Bludgeon based weapon will also have the innate ability to ignore an enemy’s defence and some of them will cause AOE (Area of Effect) damage. Here are some ideas of bludgeon weapons:

A new Biome Chest
(1) The Overworld Chest: Inside this chest you will find the weapon called: “Branch of Mending” or “Sapling of Terraworld”. It will be categorised as a bludgeon melee type weapon and perhaps have the tooltip: “Banish your foes with [alt. this branch from] the Holy tree! That is to say by beating them into a pulp with it…”

Melee damage: 130
Knockback: Strong
Use time: Average
(Special ability): Reduces incoming damage by 15% and Potion Sickness duration by 25% plus grants a small Self-regeneration boost. When swinging the weapon it will rapidly grow in size which therefore provides the user a longer attack range.
Ignores 35% of an enemy’s defence

Give Both The Arms Dealer (NPC) and Merchant (NPC) More Useful Weapons to Sell
I am aware that the main point of getting better equipment in Terraria is mostly through exploring and farming or grinding to a certain extent. However, when things doesn’t go as planned it can be tedious to fend of swarms of enemies while dying a bunch of times in Pre-Hardmode and especially when entering early Hardmode. I don’t suggest to make either Pre-Hardmode or Hardmode too easy to handle through the Arms Dealer and Merchant selling more powerful weapons, but just want to give the player a better fighting chance in case a sudden Pirate Invasion or Mechanical boss for example appears when you are poorly equipped.

Two New Guns Sold by the Arms Dealer:
Bren Gun (Ranged): A powerful but slower firing machine gun than the Minishark. Sold by the Arms Dealer at the start of Hardmode.

Twilight Seeker (Ranged): A suppressed MP5 or other submachine gun that makes the user less likely to be targeted by enemies. Bought from the Arms Dealer in Hardmode after defeating one or every Mechanical Boss.

Two New Weapons Sold by the Merchant:
Cinquedea (Melee): An Italian knife or shortsword intended for civilian use. The Cinquedea will be a reliable thrusting weapon in the game and always sold by the Merchant In Pre-Hardmode. Can be upgraded to the Noxious Razor later in Hardmode making it into a highly poisonous Shortsword.

Rapier (Melee): An early Hardmode Shortsword offered by the regular Merchant. Can be Autoswung when using the weapon.

A Few Other Item Ideas:

—(Two New Axes): Skadi’s Hunting Axe and the Aureate Divider.

(1) Skadi’s Hunting Axe: Dropped by Undead Vikings or Armored Vikings. Skadi's Hunting Axe will be useful both as an axe and a weapon. When cutting Boreal trees with it there is chance that the wood will instead turn into “Lumber of Yggdrasil” (A New Wood Type).

(2) The Aureate Divider (Reference to the Golden Axe arcade): This Golden Hamaxe will also be useful both as a tool and a weapon. In order to prevent destroying possible background walls or cutting trees the item will have a 'toggle on and off' button for when the player only wants to use it as a weapon.
Tooltip: "Bow before the power of Death Adder!"

(Special Ability): With the Aureate Divider the player can become invincible, immune to damage, for a couple of seconds.

Welrod Pistol (Ranged): A suppressed gun that can be obtained earlier in Hardmode than the "Twilight Seeker".

Crafting Recipe:
1 Flintlock Pistol
2 Dark Shard
10 Soul of Night

— The Stake Launcher can be further upgraded and perhaps have the name Mercurion instead. Except for performing better than the Stake Launcher damage wise this Repeater will also have a slightly improved fire rate and use Javelins as ammo.

Gunstock War Club (Melee): A bludgeon sold by the Traveling Merchant in Hardmode

Crysknife (Melee): A weapon from the Dune Universe. Drops from the Dune Splicer in Hardmode.

—(Three New Farmable Crops): Corn, Habanero and Spirulina (An algae farmed underwater). The Dryad NPC can sell the seeds and algae.

Fizzy Quantum I.E.D (Explosives): An improved grenade or dynamite variant that produces a large explosion and will leave a temporary damaging radiation zone from where the explosion occurred. (Reference to the Nuka grenade in the post-apocalyptic video games of Fallout) Tooltip: “Atom’s Divine Weapon” (Inspired by the tooltip for the Holy Hand Grenade item) or "Bask in the glow of Atom!".

And Finally Two End Game Spears...
(1) Cyrox: Dropped by the Moon Lord. Cyrox will be a very long spear with silvery properties. Its special ability will be similar to the "Mushroom Spear", but the projectiles will be a zigzagging light that causes damage. Further it possesses the ability to cause the Confused debuff and Celestial Flames, which is a stronger variant of the “On Fire!” debuff. Tooltip: “The light emitting from the spear is said to make any onlooker feel reverence of it”.

(2) Can upgrade Gungnir to the “Reawakened Gungnir” that can possess electrical attributes, which therefore makes it also into a better "Storm Spear" for Hardmode.
