Weapons & Equip Summoner Class Crit Rate Conversion

Out of all classes in the game, summoner is the only class in the game that doesn't seem to benefit from crit rate at all, which seems kind of unfair to me so I came up with this suggestion to improve the class:

Convert all Crit Rate to Summoner Damage Bonus while holding a Weapon with Summon Damage as the main stat (Minion Spawner/Sentry Spawner/Whip).


Example:
  1. Player character while holding a sword: has 27% crit rate and 0% summoner damage bonus.
  2. That same character with the same build holding a summoner weapon: has 0% crit rate and 27% summoner damage bonus.
  3. That same character with the same build swapping back to his sword: has 27% crit rate and 0% summoner damage bonus.
 
I'm curious about how you'd adjust minion crit chance provided by certain whips (literally just Kaleidoscope and Morning Star).

They do not. Minions cannot crit at all unless the enemy is afflicted by a Whip Tag that increases minion Crit chance (Morningstar and Kaleidoscope specifically).

Lightning Aura Sentries can gain 16.67% crit chance from the Monk Armor set bonus or 25% chance from Shinobi Infiltrator set bonus. These rates cannot be increased by the aforementioned whips. I do not believe any other sentries can crit.

I think it's definitely possible and not that hard to make minions crit like any other weapon, the issue is that adding Crits to summoner this late in the game would call for a rebalance of the entire class to account for the DPS increase

You can get 20-30% crit without going much out of your way at all, giving a 20-30% dps bonus to all minions in the game. Whips that give increased crit chance to minions only give a small amount, yet are still valuable because summoners can't normally crit. But if summons can crit by default this small crit chance is a lot less useful and the whips will need to be buffed too

It's really not worth it to change all of this just for symmetry, especially now that the lack of crits on summons is a balancing factor for several items

I feel like you could give minions the ability to crit and balance them around that.

Keep it the same. they let minions crit without actually boosting character crit rate
