Do you mean: Once the checkpoint has been "unlocked", a teleporter can now be used (presumably to teleport you back)? If so, here is a relevant design.
When the switch on the right is activated, the teleporter will now work

Well, no.
I mean that, you have a checkpoint, but now there is a teleporter that sends you to a new location, SO when in the new location the teleporter is setted as checkpoint and when you die spawn in the teleporter and not in the old checkpoint.

Not quite a wire solution, but how about a bed?

Hmmm, the beds are useful, but they dont are wired so i cant do is needed to do checkpoint to advance.

You can make it so you need to flip a switch to reach the bed (blocks in the way that get actuated)
