Console terraria 1.4 pre alpha

on the state of the game post, it says console 1.4 has a pre alpha. is there anyway for me to get that? or is that just for devs to test?

I can't see them releasing a pre-alpha version, as that is essentially a proof of concept version, often not even having full functionality. I think they were giving us a glimpse to show us that work has started on it.

It means the development of the 1.4 console update is still in early stages. Alpha and Beta versions of games are generally not available to the public. This one isn't. They're for the dev team only generally and tend to be buggy and unstable builds not having full functionality as Calen said.

Early Access games on steam will let a player purchase a game and play it while it is still in alpha or beta, but not all developers offer that option and the experience can vary. There won't be a public beta for Terraria on console.
