Terraria 2?

On the terraria wiki it states that Terraria 2 has been in development since 2012 but otherworld was supposed to be released first, howver there isnt any clear responses on whether terraria 2 was supposed to be terraria otherworld or if it is a seperate project. Is there currently development on a sequel to terraria?

The wiki isn't always the most accurate on this kind of information. Terraria: Otherworld was not Terraria 2. As far as we know, there is no news on Terraria 2's development.

No, Starbound is developed by a completley different company.

Seeing as 1.4 is the sign of Re-Logic being done with Terraria, it is unlikely that a Terraria 2 or similar (unless it's a fan project) will ever exist.
