Terraria cursor lags

Firelight

Terrarian
Hello! Today I downloaded terraria and launched it on 2k 144hz monitor. And I have lagy cursor. I saw many threads about this problem but I didn't find any decisions. I tried
turning frameskip on/off
  • switching between windowed/fullscreen
  • changing resolution, graphics quality and color modes
  • switching between multicore lighting set to off, 2,3 and 4
fiddling with my nvidia settings (turning VSync off, changing maximum pre-rendered frames, etc...)

1. You'll want frameskip off by the way, so make sure it's off.
2. Have you tried disabling triple buffering?
3. Does lower resolutions result in no input lag? Does setting your monitor on a lower refresh rate result in no input lag?

Yes I have frameskip off, I disable tripple buffering. I also tried to set lower resolutions but cursor still very laggy.

1. If you delete your config.json located in your save directory, by default that is \Documents\My Games\Terraria and then reconfigure your settings does that fix the issue?
2. Does the issue happen in both fullscreen and windowed?

Alright what about my question above? For test purposes only, if you could do the following to see if it eliminates the lag:

  • right click your desktop and click on "display settings"
  • click on "advanced display settings" towards the bottom
  • Click "Display adapter properties for display X"
  • Switch to the monitor tab
  • In the dropbox menu select 60hz rather than 144hz
Then see if any lag is present.

Now terraria became very slow

Could you do the following for me?

  • Press Windows+R
  • type msinfo32 and press enter
  • screenshot this window
  • then click the plus button next to componants
  • click on Display
  • Screenshot this window as well
  • upload both screenshots here

Sorry its all on Russian, if you need something exactly im gonna translate it

That's bizarre... It should never be slow on your system. Pressing f8 or f10 should pull up an fps counter, how much fps are you getting?

Alright then Terraria isn't slow, it just may seem slow after switching to a lower refresh rate. For the record, you should have frameskip be off.

It may be worth it to do a clean reinstall your video drivers. Let me know if you need a guide on how to do that.
