Hi all! Any advice would be seriously appreciated as I'm at my wits end trying to fix this.
Terraria would work fine up until recently (any time in the last few months since I played it, unfortunately can't pinpoint any big changes in that time) but after trying to pick it up again to play with friends, it will not open. Either one of two things happen when I open it: Either it crashes with an error message I don't understand (log file attached), or runs in the background and doesn't open (which is visible in task manager and Discord game detection). Whichever one it decides to do seems to be entirely random, but crashing is more common.
Opening it through tModloader worked a few times, but crashed in the menu after a few minutes each time, and eventually stopped working and repeatedly crashed on boot (error 0xc0000142, please let me know if this is a separate issue i should be asking elsewhere for, but my main problem is vanilla Terraria I just figured it might be relevant information).
I have tried everything I can possibly think of to fix this. I have verified files, reinstalled all the usual recommended dependencies, clean reinstalled the game, reinstalled Steam, scrubbed every trace of Terraria (and tModloader) system files from my PC that I can find, run as many scans and checks for corrupted files on my system as I can find, and yet the game will crash the exact same every time I try and boot it again. No other Steam games I've tried have had the same problems. Googling snippets from the error logs brings up nothing. I'm about to try reinstalling Windows as a last ditch effort and if that doesn't work I'm tempted to backup my personal files and wipe my hard drive of anything that could be affecting it, but I'm asking here first to see if anyone has a less nuclear solution for me to try lol. The fact I don't really understand the crash logs doesn't help my case either. If anyone knows what they're looking at here and has some ideas for me to try please please let me know!
