PC Terraria not launching

Bongbong

Terrarian
This problem has started since the Journeys End update but I've only come around to posting about it now, my issue is that Terraria simply does not open, I've tried multiple things I've seen work in other posts but none did. I've found this error log after finding out about trying to create a server and copying the cmd:

Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'ReLogic, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Invalid pointer (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004003 (E_POINTER)) ---> System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.at System.Reflection.RuntimeAssembly.nLoadImage(Byte[] rawAssembly, Byte[] rawSymbolStore, Evidence evidence, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean fIntrospection, Boolean fSkipIntegrityCheck, SecurityContextSource securityContextSource)at System.Reflection.Assembly.Load(Byte[] rawAssembly)at Terraria.WindowsLaunch.<>c.<Main>b__5_0(Object sender, ResolveEventArgs sargs)at System.AppDomain.OnAssemblyResolveEvent(RuntimeAssembly assembly, String assemblyFullName)--- End of inner exception stack trace ---at Terraria.Program.LaunchGame(String[] args, Boolean monoArgs)at Terraria.WindowsLaunch.Main(String[] args)

And I've only recently found out I can play older Terraria versions, specifically: v1.2.4.1 / v1.1.2 and v1.0.6.1 plus I've noticed that I have no Terraria folder in my PCs 'My Games' folder.

Hello @Bongbong, sorry to hear you're having issues with Terraria.

Can I ask you which things you have already tried to resolve this issue?

It's hard to remember exactly since I've been trying for years now, but I'll try to list everything I remember:

Reinstalling Terraria;
Verifying integrity of game files;
I'm unfortunately locked out of trying anything related to the My Games folder;
.Net is installed and has been reinstalled multiple times;
Xnafx is installed and has been reinstalled multiple times;
Tried to create a "config.json" file manually, to no effect;
Disabled and enabled cloud saving on steam;
Ran the command "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth";
Put the following in the steam launch options: "-logerrors -logfile". To no effect;
Messed with the OneDrive folder, and nothing changed;
And found the following errors through the Event Viewer:

Apologies if this reads badly, english is not my native language.

This is a bit of a long shot but could you try running Terraria as an Administrator?

I'm so sorry for taking so long to answer.
Terraria still did not open nor show any signs of different behaviour.

Could you please try manually deleting everything in the Terraria installation folder and then verifying integrity? It's possible there's a corrupt file present that a Steam re-install would not pick up on.

Just tried that, and no luck. No error message or anything of the sort either.

"14389 files failed to validate and will be reacquired."

I see. Could I ask you to download the attached .ZIP file, follow the enclosed instructions and copy the output of the executable to this thread? It may give me some more information as to what the exact issue is.

I've copied everything in the cmd to this text file since it's quite a lot.

Thank you for the log. It contains some useful information, but I would like to see the assembly binding logs to narrow down the issue. Could you follow these steps for me?
  1. Download the FusionLogs.zip attached to this post and unpack it.
  2. Run fusionEnable.bat as an administrator, if all goes well you should see the message "Fusion logs enabled." in the terminal.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Re-run DependencyChecker.exe and post the new output to this thread.
  5. Run fusionDisable.bat as an administrator, if all goes well you should see the message "Fusion logs disabled." in the terminal.
  6. Restart your computer again.

Thank you for the logs and your patience, there's definitely something strange going on here. Could I ask you to go to your C:/ root, make a .ZIP of the FusionLog folder and upload that here as well?

Here you go, I think this is what you're asking for, yes?

Thank you for the logs. We're working on a tool to help diagnose the exact issue. I will notify you when it is ready. :)

Hello again, sorry for the wait.

We've managed to find something that will hopefully provide us with the information we need to solve your issue. Could you please follow these steps?
  1. Download the below folder and extract the contents (procdump.exe and procdump.bat) to your Terraria installation directory.
  2. Run procdump.bat. A terminal should open and start displaying a bunch of text - you can ignore this.
  3. Once the terminal closes, there should be ten .dmp files in your installation directory, in the format of Terraria.exe_YYMMDD_HHMMSS.dmp. Please upload the most recent one to this thread (you may have to ZIP it first).

Now this is a problem, only one .dmp file was created, I'll send it here either way.

Could you try again with this .bat file? You can just replace the old one and rerun it.

Unfortunately this did not make any file and gave this error message.
