PC Terraria not starting

Assombrance

Terrarian
Hi,
I bought Terraria not long ago, and I've never been able to play.
So I decide to try to tacle the proble now ... Impossible.
My probles is that when I launch the game, nothing happens ... I can see it in the Task Manager for ~15sec, and then, is closes itself.
(the only thing that I can show: the Task Manager : http://i.imgur.com/dHWyi4P.png)
I tried to reinstall the .NET framework 4, nothing.
And since I don't have any error message, I don't really know what to to.
Do you need my computer specs ?
Thanks in advance,
Henri

Please open TerrariaServer.exe and tell us if you get any errors. (It's in the same place as Terraria.exe.)

I just have "Terraria ceased working" (the standard Windows popup) not error message
(here is the popup : http://i.imgur.com/wlfbhbb.png )
edit : oh, in fact there is a error message,
exception not handled : System.BadImageFormatExeption: Impossible to load the file or the assembly 'Microsoft.Wna.Framework.Graphics.dll' or one of it dependancies. this is not a valid Win32 application. (Exeption of HRESULT : 0x800700C1)
at Terraria.Main..ctor()
at Terraria.Program.LaunchGame(String[] args)
at Terraria.WindowsLaunch.Main(String[] args)
I didn't paid attention (I'v put the translation so it's easier to workout an to copy/paste :p)

Please try re-installing the XNA Framework. (You can also try Verifying Integrity of Game Cache, but the XNA Framework files may be separate from that.)

I've already done that, not working :/
edit: in fact, when I try the repair thing, the progress bar goes only to one tenth and the the window closes itself without more details. I'm looking into that
reEdit: no, nothing is different, the removing-intallation seemed to work fine but without Terraria working, still

Same problem here after 1.3 upgrade. Terraria played ok before. (Steam, Windows 7)

Start Terraria.exe ==> shows up in Task Manager for ~10 sec ==> vanishes.

Start TerrariaServer.exe ==> "Terraria has stopped working" (no error message or stacktrace.)

Reinstalled XNA from Terraria folder; reinstalled Terraria completely; no luck.

Event Viewer entries: where do you find those ?
Windows Start Menu

Type:

Event Viewer
(or the equivalent in your language)

Left side tree:

Event Viewer (Local) ==> Windows Logs ==> Application

Find the latest event with "Error" level

On the General tab, check whether "Faulting application name" is Terraria.exe

On the Details tab, select "XML View" and the info will be there

Verry late response but my friend has the same problem and cannot fix it with any of the mentioned solutions.

that really helped actually, if you cant find the .NET framework on newer versions of windows, repairing any framework from Microsoft will fix the issue

I cant fix it, I can't repair the frameworks, because it's saying the location of it in my files can not be found. Is there a way to reinstall it?
