It could use an outline, without one it looks more like a Starbound weapon.

It's a good start for sure. It has a lot of colors for such a small sprite, particularly in the dark part of the blade. Also, you generally want to have the darkest color on the outside. I'd give it an 8. For a first sprite, it is definitely promising.
Here is a really good, thorough spriting guide. I highly suggest reading it. Seriously, I wish I'd seen and internalized it when I was new to spriting.

This is my first sprite (I know its bad) so I would like some critiques.
I've always wanted vanity sets to go with the masks, so I decided to make it myself since I found this thread. I started with BoC cuz crimson is my favorite, I will do the other bosses too later

Heres all I have done so far! I havent done EoC or skeletron because Im not sure how to, its just an eye and a skull with arms, no body or anything, so it would be hard to do them
(Before you say anything, the ninja set doesnt go with the slime mask, and the bee set doesnt go with the Queen Bee mask!)
