Terraria State of the Game - April 2025

The way I've been dealing with the long wait is to just play other games and focus on my projects when possible (which is uh, not now given I just had two meltdowns in two days...). I've also obtained some new games (Just got Palworld yesterday for my birthday for example), and at this point the only moment where I remember "Oh yeah, 1.4.5 is still on the way" is when the SotG is posted, which I then read through, give my opinions on, and immediately forget about the update because I have so many other games to play.

I'm very active on a Brazilian RPG server. I've been playing there for over a year now.

Esther, my friend, you said exactly what I've been trying to do these past few days.

I think he means that the update is taking so long.

I'm wondering what'll be the "gimmick" for summon reforges. Ranger has velocity, mage has mana cost reduction, etc. An extra minion would be too OP, so I'm guessing its a tag damage bonus. Still, I'd like to see what it might be.

ALSO WHY CANT SUMMONS CRIT

technically summons can crit with certain whips (which give them crit chance)
if anything it helps to limit the power of hybrid builds at the cost that anybody who doesn't read the wiki probably won't realise summon weapons don't crit
Edit: I also disagree slightly on the extra minion/tag damage as modifiers
extra minion is strong but only really overpowered early game which suffers from some i frame issues anyway
tag damage as a modifier on whips has game breakingly good potential it needs to be like +0.5 in order to not make whipstacking cracked beyond belief

*Sigh*. This month's spoilers were pretty cool, but other than that I feel deeply disappointed, I thought they were going to release it on the anniversary like they did with 1.4.

Maybe it's my fault for having placed so many expectations on this, maybe the most they'll do on May 16th is make 1.3 available on Steam.

I really hope there can be more gameplay from 1.4.5, I think asking for hardmode gameplay would be asking too much.

or perhaps they're being qet, and perhaps gonna release it with no warning, which honestl would be very welcome to me. that or a release of 1.3 or a rerelease of "the Xbox 360 editi0n".

Hello I just hope y'all add where achievements can reset in every world you make so that it'll be more exciting to get the achievement in every world.

I really enjoy getting a pop up on achievements and I hope you guys would add more achievements, like having a platinum coin or spending the max platinum coin (999) or even maybe using the teleportation gun for the first time to teleport in space into hell.

Numerous leaks, datamines, and anecdotes from Valve employees suggest a new mainline Half-Life entry is rapidly approaching completion, so add that to the list.

Also two of those things literally have release dates, so they're not really predictions.

It better include a Portal 3.

Bad things to it as payback for all times its trolled me or otherwise tormented me... Thats a joke btw, I just mess about building, fighting and exploring on both Vanilla and TModLoader and strangely ive been leaning more towards Vanilla lately for some reason, as for the 1.4.5 thing, i would not put it past them to turn 1.4.5 into 1.5 at this point.
