Terraria State of the Game - January 2025

Blah, blah, blah and a bunch more nonsense, "it's going to be a great year" nah I think I've read that before. Apparently Doom Dark Ages, GTA VI, Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc, Minecraft 2 and Call of Duty World War 3 will come first.

I think they should add a fairy pet in this update if they aren't doing that already, so we can have both our fairy light pet and fairy regular pet out while using the fairy mount while fighting the fairy boss with our fairy wings equipped (we don't need them with the mount but still) that we crafted from fairy dust from fairy enemies, in our arena lit up with fairy glowsticks and some fairy light furniture objects that we crafted from fairy critters we caught that spawned from fairy natural background objects. I think that would bring us as close to the intended Terraria experience as possible.

Maybe fairies can spawn on the sky islands in the next update.

I'm assuming the fairy transformation is a mount, I'm kinda hoping it's available relatively early on, if the flight is time limited then it would be in a similiar stage of the game as the bee mount. The main exception would probably be not being able to use tools while flying with the fairy
Also pretty unfortune that there's no release date or a more specific release window but as long as the progress is going smoothly I guess we don't have to worry to much. I mean, there's another game I'm waiting for that's taking infamously long with very little updates, so those little pieces of spoilers we are getting here are certainly keeping me hopeful

Not a huge fan of what was posted under Mobile & Console news: "We are hopeful that this year will bring the long-awaited update." Really?!?! They aren't even 100% sure that the update will be in 2025, but rather "hopeful"? Not a very encouraging statement! And it lends itself to being interpreted as "the update won't be coming out anytime soon" which I'm sure many of us already guessed. Yeehaw, I'll be able to transform into a fairy . The lack of information that we actually care about, you know, when the update that was announced 3 years ago, will actually make it's way to the player, has become as comical as it is frustrating. I wonder how long they sit and ponder what carefully chosen words to use to essentially tell us nothing so they can post yet another pointless SOTG? It's one small step above word salad.

I apologize for writing this long request in poor English.
When I heard that Terraria will be translated into Japanese with “Terraria State of the Game”, as a Japanese player I am happy, but at the same time I fear that the Japanese translation of ver 1.4.5 will be as childish as the Switch, PS4 and mobile versions. They don't translate using Kanji for some reason.
So the current Japanese translations of the Switch, PS4, and mobile versions are offensive and look like a kindergartner's play!

Including yet another Madrinas advertisement which you got quite a bit of backlash in the comments for it. Justifiably so.

Great point! Isn't this exactly one of the issues people have with Mr. Beast, marketing to kids. Madrinas is a trash company, and Re-Logic should know better than to market that garbage to a demographic that includes young children. The main ingredient is Pure Cane Sugar.

I remember ages ago on an RP server I helped run, I played as a fairy for a little bit, by using the light pet with an invisibility potion. Actually turning into a fairy will be a lot of fun!

Not a lot of news, I hope this means the update is coming in the next few months or so, but as the dev team says “it’ll be ready when it’s ready” and we should be thankful for the high standards re-logic holds themselves to.

the art is really awesome, and rappenem's image style is very unique, i'd love to see more like that.

Suinumi's image is beautiful, i love night time scenes.

I'll be real with you: I'm not. You've been hyping up this update for so long i lost hope of it ever coming out and my interest diminished significantly. With every SOTG being barely anything of substance and no release date STILL after all this time. Nothing still in this SOTG other than bits of minor feature spoilers you keep throwing at the community to "keep up the hype" for this update that will never arrive anytime soon

Melting Gem Critters into Rock Candy is one of the most bizarre and at the same time most Terraria-like things i've ever read, holy ! XDDD

Also looking forward to that new fairy transformation! ️️

I really still don't have an idea of how we will go about achieving each of the transformations, but I love that they all come in different shapes and sizes for different things!
