Remember what Miamoto said: "… a rushed game is forever bad." I forgot the first part lol so yeah
Except he never said that; or anything remotely close. It's a paraphrase of a quote said by a completely different person, which was then randomly reattributed to Miyamoto.

The actual original quote is "A game is only late until it ships, but it's bad forever." and it was said by Siobhan Beeman at the Computer Game Developers' Conference of 1996.

And regardless of who said it or how, the idea behind the quote is no longer relevant in our Internet era where every electronic device can be assumed to be constantly connected to the Internet. After all, we're not talking about a rushed-or-not game here; we're talking about an update. For a game that was originally released 14 years ago.

Still, there would be a lot of backlash if Terraria 1.4.5 was buggy and laggy on release.

"Errrrm ACTUALLY,"
Bud, if you want people to like you and not hate you, don't correct and factcheck everything they say. And this comes from personal experience. Wether or not it was said by Miamoto isn't the point, nor is that updates aren't games, as they still would apply to the same rules of dedication.

That true, Im glad theyre taking their time to try and iron out and quash the bug and glitches and make sure the update is of a high quaality and standard, and that everything that they intend to add works as it should do.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, 1.4.5 is done, they just decided on a double feature and have given us 1.4.6 in the meantime.

It’s borderline 1.5 at this point…

And thats fair enough not trying to argue, not my style, I was just agreeing with what Asternove said.

Tbf Relogic always wants to take time, to make sure there are minimal bugs on release. Unfortanently, another game studio that I like does not take their time and it showed on release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
I'm an idiot, so I don't understand why Relogic is so highly rated when compared to Game Freak, which releases a completely new game every year or two, and Relogic, which hasn't even been able to update in three years.

Call it fashionably late. Rhymes with Grug.
One word: fanservice. They have gone way out of the way for us to see our own ideas in the game.

Pokemon pumps out $60 main games every 3 years, usually with a $60 spinoff, $60 remake, and/or $30 DLC in the meantime. Terraria made you pay one $10 payment and has been giving constant free updates since.

im just happy this game is still getting updated at all lol

Last year I asked if the character will still be able to hold kites in the new update, which adds the ability to place kites, and now that's confirmed!

I'm sorry.
In the first place, it was wrong to compare Pokemon, which is constantly releasing new games to attract new users, with Terraria, a game that is constantly updated.

Hot take but mainline pokemon is mid, you get basically the same game but with a new map and new pokemon, and to get everything you usually have to buy the other game which is nearly identical

Well, I just want to sincerely apologize for my behavior over the past few months. It wasn't healthy to spam comments that were actually praising the post instead of complaining... I think all the anger I felt was due to fear that something would happen that would prevent me from seeing it released.

All is forgiven. I get the fear, and the anger behind it. After all, it was Yoda that said, "Fear leads to anger." But it takes a true man to admit his fault without being called out on it.

But changing the subject, Silksong is winning the race, man, unless there's a plot twist for Terraria. And I haven't even finished the Colosseum of Fools!
