When do you think Xbox One 1.4 will be released, I'm not looking for a definate date, just a guess. But if you have one thatd be great!

Greetings from the post-launch side of Journey's End!

Now that we have emerged from the madness that was the final launch push for Journey's End and are into the equally-insane hotfix scramble, we are happy to take a few minutes out to celebrate... and to give some very juicy news for our non-PC Terrarians. If you have been paying attention this week, a lot of this will be summary for you - but either way, read on!

PlayStation 4, XBOX ONE, Nintendo Switch - PIPEWORKS
We are happy to report that the fixes for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 1.3.5 have arrived! What all does this include? Let's check em out!

XBOX ONE AND PLAYSTATION 4 TERRARIA 1.3.5 FIXES

  • Fixed issue with paint displaying incorrectly (the Transparent Blocks bug)
  • Grand Design now works correctly in multiplayer
  • Water waves now render correctly for all split-screen players
  • Miscellaneous multiplayer and performance improvements (there is a lot here, which should hopefully help iron out some of the performance issues, particularly in multiplayer sessions and with the Old One's Army event)

The 1.3.5 version of Terraria for Switch launches today for Terrarians everywhere! Desert revamp, Party Events, Old One's Army... it's all here!

This took a bit longer than we had hoped, but it really paid off in some extra performance improvements that the team were able to get pushed in. We are actively monitoring for bug reports, etc. So be sure to share your feedback!

For full details, check out our launch thread below!

Hello everyone!

Last we left you, we had just released the Controller + Customization Update fixes and then we have been pretty quiet since then. What have we been doing the past few weeks you ask? Oh, just working on a little thing called.....

Terraria: Journey's End for Mobile

That's right, Terrarians, we are going to be making the quantum leap all the way from 1.3.0.7 - 1.4 with your next content update on Mobile. Five years of updates in one big update! There is still a long road ahead and a LOT yet to get done (especially in regards to UI/optimizations and more) - but we couldn't help but share our excitment and the news sooner vs later. We will have more tidbits and progress reports - and spoilers! - to share along our own path to Journey's End... so stay tuned for that!

As for timing, we don't have an exact timeframe to give you just yet - but we will the instant that we do!

Until next time!

Why are you reading this instead of playing Journey's End? We cannot believe the level of support we are seeing since release. Fourth highest peak in Steam players ever? Just wow.

Oh you want an update on what we are doing now? Ok fine....

What's next after the hotfixes are done and the madness has calmed down? Well, we have a few things we would like to get into a 1.4.1 update - including the Vanity Contest winners, Soundtrack update, and more. Stay tuned for more there.

Thanks again, Terrarians - we are as always blown away by your support!

TERRARIA 10TH ANNIVERSARY PLANNING

Terraria is officially 9 years old! May 16th marked the 9th year of Terraria and our glorious community. Thank you for being a part of the Terraria family. It has been an incredible journey over these past several years. We appreciate your stories, comments, and presence in our lives. The Terraria community would not be the same without you. We are truly thankful that we get to share our community with you and look forward to an exciting future together.

Last year we revealed the first batch of official Terraria Lore on the 8th anniversary of Terraria. Seems like a challenge to try to top releasing Journey's End on our 9th anniversary. However, next year will mark the 10th anniversary of Terraria and we are going to have to plan something huge to mark the occasion. We would love to hear your suggestions on what we should do for our anniversary next year.

We created a new 10th-anniversary-planning channel in the Terraria Community Team server. Stop by and share your opinion of what we should include in the anniversary festivities for next year. We would love to hear your feedback on how to make Terraria’s 10th anniversary a truly unforgettable occasion. Furthermore, depending on how things go we could end up forming a Terraria Anniversary Party Committee made up of passionate community members eager to take the celebration to the next level.

You can join the Terraria Community Team server here: Join the Terraria Community Team Discord Server!

Never fails to amaze me

I just made an account on here so I didn't know...its just as I said however im sorry for the inconvenience of asking

didn't mean anything by it, it's understandable if you're new here, but a lot of people who aren't new have been asking like crazy.

but yeah, so far, there is no estimate, you gotta keep in mind that due to the pandemic, lots of people need to work remotely, so the console update will probably take awhile, as it has likely put pipeworks in a tough spot.

It is pretty unlikely I think. It can take time to add new AI and ensure it is still balanced. Even taking the intentional high difficulty into account it still needs to be possible to win. The amount of time to develop exclusive AI for Master Mode and test it likely would have caused the update to be delayed and released several months later than it did.
THANK YOU FOR THAT. It was killing me enough already, and the update is so diverse I don't feel like bosses need to be harder.

the more I see people talk about mods, the more I wonder if I am alone in preferring games as they're meant to be played.

I view mods as unnatural and they ruin the experience for me, even if it's minor, it makes the game not feel like itself anymore.

I used to play games on PC long ago until that community drove me away from the whole thing, and mods just felt wrong, actually even causing me to completely drop games I attempted to use them on, no matter how much I loved the games.

that is one reason I will never play on PC again, cause I don't want terraria ruined for me.

just saying, it's an alien concept to me, the idea of people not only enjoying mods but WANTING to mod a game so heavily, especially one that is already so good on its own merits.

it's even stranger when people so casually talk about mods breaking games and causing so many other issues... and keep using them.

how does that not ruin the game for those people? :dryadconfused:
I guess there will always be people who don't understand or have had bad experiences...
I played the heck out of Mobile 1.3, and even before I defeated the moon lord (Which took me an embarrassing like, 200 tries) I literally got bored. This happens with any game eventually, but having something that makes the game more diverse and complicated, for me, at least, makes the game last longer in my 'favorites' section. Journey's End is amazing, but it will eventually get less interesting. This is why I'm glad that TMod is now more of a thing, as it will keep me playing the game longer. Journey's End may take me a year to get bored of, but afterward, I'll have mods that deepen the game experience exponentially. On breaking your device, I think, as I have never done this before, I'll probably just stick to the common, more popular ones, as those are played heavily enough that they have to be really good, like Calamity, Overhaul, and Thorium.

You can bump it up by just replying on it.
Thanks for trying to help out Greybrynn, but we very much discourage bumps here. Unless there is substantial new info that is added. All bug reports are being looked into, some may not be bugs and are actually technical issues that need to be fixed user side.

everything comes to an end eventually, artificially extending something just kills it on a deeper level.

it's like when a person is put on life support to extend their life... it's just a miserable experience, and it's not really living.

that's how i view mods, basically.

what are the system requirements for 1.4 on mobile?

System requirements aren't available at this time. 1.4 for Mobile isn't available yet. At minimum it will be the current 1.3 requirements. There will be more news for Mobile 1.4 at a later time.

This might be a little Nitpicky, but I feel some of the Older content is lagging behind the current game. Spatzizim spits Cursed flames in Crimson worlds, The Evil Biomes become Irrelevant after the Mechs are down, The Underworld is useless In hardmode, and Still no Mechanical Brain of Cthulhu. A few Quality of Life changes for 1.4.1 or Beyond would be Great. Things such as making Spatzizim Spit Ichor In Crimson Worlds, Giving Players a reason to not just wipe away the Corruption after the Mechs are down, Giving the Underworld some love, and Maybe giving us a Corruption/Crimson EoL would be much Appreciated. Still, this is a great game, and I've had a ton of fun with it since 1.2. The Seeds are wonderful, and the Torch god is Hilarious. Its nice to see you guys putting work into this game even after 9 years.

There will always be the critics...
Die in a deeper level? Maybe. I think it is worth it, as there are enough mods that it will, I think, extend the life of the game 4-5 times, as some add post-moon Lord content. Everyone has an opinion, and I will defend mine as you are defending yours. Thank you for your arguments, and helping me see a different side of the issue. I now respectfully bow out of this discussion.

If you are saying that mobile will get mods. I don't think mobile will get mods.
