"Viable" is the same as "optimal"

Alright, this may just be the slime but i'm getting desperate now for this big as king slime update especially since there's nothing in the community going on, GIVE.
 
is no one commenting the stackable shrimpy truffles and draxes in the mobile boss fight video???? did they already announce this stuff in the past and i missed it?
This was announced in the past; many more items are stackable now.
 
slime whip looks great, finally a summoner weapon without having to suffer the jungle or having to shell out 10 gold. also it pulling items towards you is a very cool detail
edit: i know it's really late in the development process, but would there be a way to allow players to color their eyes fully? like full white, or full black.
 
Slime Whip is surprisingly interesting for a starter weapon. Looking forward to trying it.
I wonder if the slimed buff will make runnings imps more worth it its really interesting and exciting
 
Slime debuff increases Burn DoT?

... What about only counting viable weapons?
You get maybe 5 per class tops.
Only 1 earlygame summon weapon has no niche and it's Slime Staff, which is also getting more easily available next update due to becoming a king slime drop. The rest of them are best in different situations and some of them (abigail and snapthorn) even see some niche utility in hardmode.

Wait so does this mean the Slime Gun could be usable now?
 
I'm really looking forward to the new update! Many thanks to the developers for their work! But I'm also really looking forward to at least some information on my proposal about changing the seasons, it seems to me that it's quite easy to implement, and it so coolly updates the visuals of the game, making it very atmospheric!

always glad to see more gear added, the more objects in the game, the more i can add to the R&D collection.

i play in journey mode to keep the game as stress-free as possible, since life is providing more than enough of that.

so i like to use the R&D feature as an encyclopedia to fill up, alongside the bestiary... still can't thank re-logic enough for journey mode.

i swear, the art gets better in every SotG.

WangDashe's looks so cool, i love those fiery shades.

SnookyZun once again blowing my mind with that terraria journal.

Comfortable-Mark5714's looks incredible, as well... looks like a souls boss in terraria-style.

deerpawz made some strangely adorable nightmare fuel.

Argengy's also looks great... these epic interpretations of terraria gear really do make me think of things you'd fight in souls games.

i love phhooo's plantera, very detailed and smooth.

Drawnbykrishna's zoologist... she is absolutely beautiful. :dryadpassionate:

AEngel-Art-777 created some incredible looking creatures, i love that middle one.

i wish i was better with words, i'm not doing any of these justice. :dryadembarrassed:
 
I honestly think the reason people are losing their minds a bit in this specific dev cycle may be attributed to the frequency of "State of the Game" news making scope creep more apparent than it would be in other things. I know Terraria has done things this way since practically the beginning, but this time around it was many many months ago that the "we're almost done, we're just waiting for more music" SoTG got put out.

Also possible a bunch of new people who aren't used to being patient showed up.

I don't really mind personally though. That's how this game has always worked.

In any case, I really hope the Slime Spear isn't that strong. Too many starting area weapons may start invalidating wooden chest items.
 
It is pretty much the only actually usable option for mages against Skeletron.
And that is perfectly fine. "Usable" is an understatement.
