Okay, everyone, let's move away from the simultaneous release and start speculating on what awaits us in this update? What are you hoping for? New content? Some QoL features?

(Yes, Kirby Eevee🌳, we know you want cloud-themed furniture.)

Personally, I'd like to see a fix for boss drops displayed in the Bestiary for Expert and Master Modes. For example, under the bag information, a list of what the bag can contain + a percentage of the "random" developer outfit drop would be displayed. Admittedly, boss drops would then have to be manually modified, as they're the only ones in the Bestiary, but I don't think it would be a huge problem for the developers.

I'd also like to see information about the Pirate's Curse and Spiked Slime in the Bestiary. The lack of Spiked Slimes on Classic worlds could definitely be addressed. For example, they could appear but not shoot spikes, or it could be explained that they only appear in worlds with more challenging conditions.

I’d want a boss bag for casual multiplayer, so the bosses drop enough for each player like expert mode but not the expert exclusive items

almost left existence cause mind got confused.
stayed for the terra terr.

XDDDDD 😆

Well in my case, aside from cloud furniture, i have a few wishes for this update:

A full Pine Furniture set is now a no-brainer after seeing the Gothic one being finally completed 🎄

Building uses for the new thunderstorm particles that appear before a lightning strike, like some Living Volt Block for electric/tech builds ⚡

A monolith for the Radio Thing filter apart of being just an accessory 📻

A new music that separates the Meteorite from the Blood Moon event ☄️🩸

Also THIS! I would even include information about the Golden Slime and Jungle Mimic! ^^

Right! I've long believed that the Gold Slime should appear in every world. Ideally, from the beginning, but if they want to keep it unique, maybe they should only appear after defeating the Pirate Invasion... or only after defeating Moon Lord.

The Jungle Mimic is more difficult because they've turned it into a joke mob. The only way I could see it appearing in every worlds is if they gave it an actual drop and removed its puke attack.

And speaking of Mimic, a cool QoL feature would be that when using the Key of Night in an artificially created evil biome, the corresponding Mimic variant actually appears.

In turn, having an artificially created evil biome in the world should unlock the ability to buy a second evil solution from Stempunkerka (with the same rules as the current evil solution).

I am shocked at how many futature items I missed and I am very upset since I cant craft greedy ring in my world on jm character where I have so much stuff its hard to know what I don't and what I do have

Wow, two months in a row one of my feature suggestions became reality.
(guide no house required and guide crafting menu more obvious)
The implemented solutions are even better than in my suggestion. I never though of an extra crafting menu.
I really like the new crafting UI! Great work.
Can't wait to play it

A lightning rod that can catch Thunderstrike would be GREAT for both practicality and aesthetics.

I wonder how many items in total there are in game probably 8k+

In current patch there are 5455 item ids in use, this is including some unimplemented items but there really aren't many of those.

oh I got bunches of the items idk how many are unobtainable but I do know I don't got any since I play on switch

Well, forget the last comment, it was too sentimental.

I believe patch 1.4.5 might have approximately 3,000 or 4,000 items. Who remembers the meteor shower that's coming? Will there be an aurora borealis event in the snow biome?

(I got hit by a boulder thrown by a certain fellow... ouch)

I strongly doubt it will be any more than 1000. 1.4.5 will be big but I doubt it'll nearly double the game's size lmao.

I did a quick search, and version 1.4.4 added 300 items with 3 furniture sets. The 1.4.5 may have 4 times more items than the previous update and should have more than 9 or 10 furniture sets.

-Fallen Star Furniture
-Hallowed Furniture
-Cloud Furniture
-Crimson Brick Furniture
-Corruption Brick Furniture
-Shimmer Furniture
-Gothic Furniture
-Feywood Furniture
-Modern Furniture
-Moon Furniture
-Stone Furniture (Sundial)

That's all I can remember. If anyone knows more, please tell me. The Mushroom Staff probably requires 5x bars of demonite/crimtane and 10x glowing mushrooms or 10x glowing mushroom and 10x-15x jungle spores

That's definitely not right. Furniture has never been an indicator for content update size. 1.2.4 added 12 furniture sets despite only adding 452 items. Meanwhile 1.3 only added 4 sets despite adding 851 items.

1.4, meanwhile, added 9 furniture sets while only adding 1112 items. There is 0 shot we're getting more items than that.

Timing-wise, the launch window remains the same - though January is more likely at this point unless we get lucky with faster-than-expected submissions.

We will try our very best to continue to narrow that window down as we know more. We should know a LOT more once we get the first round of submissions out of the way. The reality is that first party staff go home for the holidays eventually - at which point we are stuck waiting on them to return. We are racing that clock to at least get our first round of submissions in and done this year. If we get first-pass approval, December remains possible. If not... then it's probably January.

... I honestly can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd argue that January might actually be better for y'all. So many devs out there are aiming for end-of-year releases and updates, and they're converging on December; I know my attention will be split between Warframe and FFXIV, then. Good luck on your submissions, either way.

A monolith for the Radio Thing filter apart of being just an accessory 📻
Regarding monoliths, there's an interesting story behind this.
I proposed it myself in Leinfors's balance thread, so that placing monoliths in accessory slots would give the player an overlay effect. However, I intended this to only apply to cosmetic monoliths, but the Echo Chamber, added in the same update, also benefited from this change. This, in my opinion, is a mistake, as it completely defeats the purpose of the Spectre Goggles, which must be equipped with an accessory slot, unlike the Echo Chamber, which even works in a vanity slot.

Now that I think about it, I think I'll file a report on this. I woke up to this quickly, didn't I?

Having it work in vanity slots makes it so you can't quickly toggle the effect by right clicking the vanity slot, which swaps it with the accessory to the right of it. Spectre goggles are fine and as someone who's tried and used both expensively I prefer the goggles.

I just created a bug report, your argument is also absolutely correct, so I would appreciate it if you could post it there.

Wonder how many new boulders can be crafted.
New class: Boulder class?
