Terraria State of the Game - November 2025

I know it's a placeable critter there, but it's still a possibility that the Great Owl of War could be added.
I'm not saying it won't be. I just don't think that the may state of the game was hinting at it.
Will Moon Lord have more drops for the other classes? And will the pillars have a third drop for each class?
Summon we have 3 weapons, while the other class we have 2 weapons each
Yeah I'm hopeful that we get 3 pillar weapons for each class, it would be weird if only the stardust pillar got an extra weapon. I also reckon mage and ranger are also getting new moon lord drops for similar reasons, I wonder if we'll get 3 drops per kill instead of 2?
Pondering Possible Content, continued:

Am I the only one hoping some of the AI changes (not stat changes) from ForTheWorthy make their way to enemies in Master Mode?
As a summoner player, I'm still hopeing for more whips. I know 9 have been spoiled already, but that only brings the total up to 18 (less than spears! If you include the new slime spear.) given whips make up about half the summoner class we really need more of them. I know Dead Cells has some whips in it, maybe some will get added as part of the crossover?

It's just a conclusion I drew about this banner.

If I have to choose whether I prefer to have a more interesting game on a higher difficulty level or only on a special seed, I prefer that these changes be linked to the difficulty level.
Before now I would have agreed, but now I'm not so sure. Special seeds aren't even going to be seeds in 1.4.5, they're making them settings just like world difficulty instead.

Basically, yes and no. They simply won't be seed-dependent anymore. Previously, we used a seed to determine the world type, but the actual seed was random. Now we can choose the world type and give it our own seed.

However, it's important to remember that ForTheWorthy isn't just about AI changes, but also generation changes, stat increases, size changes, and a huge number of ignited bombs. Meanwhile, Master Mode, the actual difficulty level of the game, is just about statistics. So I think some of the less extreme new AI enemies should appear in Master Mode.

Certainly not something like Skeletron Prime's Bombs or the gravity of the Brain of Cthulhu, but the summoning attack in the second phase of the Eye of Cthulhu, Skeletron's Dark Casters, or spiders shooting webs would be appropriate.

From my impression
Classic Mode: Standard Experience.
Expert Mode: Harder enemies with better loot
Master Mode: Everything kills you in 2-3 hits.
Legendary Mode: "I heard you say Master mode is too easy."

If there are any changes to enemies' AI in Master mode, I would rather they be in the normal enemies.
Bosses already have plenty of AI changes.

Do you think there will be any transformation mounts we don't know about?
So far, we know that, along with the existing ones, there will be:
- Wolf
- Dinosaur
- Bat
- Rat
- Fairy

Personally, I'd predict a spider and the ability to freely move on background walls.

New Terraria challenge: Beat the Moon Lord as a fish.

Whip Recipe:
-Vasculash/Soulscourge
-Snapthorn
-Spinal Tap
-Hellstone Whip/Starcrash

And we got: Night's Lash
I hope not; copy/pasting the Terra Blade formula comes across as kinda boring to me.

Yeah I'm with Asternove on this one, having a designated "Best" whip kinda goes against the design of the summoner class, and would risk being broken if you could whip stack with the components. Some sort of hellstone/shadowchest whip is something that would be good to add, I am in agreement with you on that. I think it would be neat if it added summon crit chance (like the Kaleidoscope and Morning Star), but no regular tag dammage.

If we're going to combine weapons like this can we at least do new recipes with new identities instead of endlessly repeating ones that already exist? You don't have to make a night or terra themed weapon to combine weapons.

I am so glad that they revamped the crafting UI. The old can be janky at times, especially when you have lots of crafting options at once. At this point, 1.4.5 is just 1.5 inside a trench coat. Sucks that it's most likely to be released in January due to the winter holidays.

Timing-wise, the launch window remains the same - though January is more likely at this point unless we get lucky with faster-than-expected submissions.
January in 2026? Yeah... sure.. okay. That's rather "optimistic"

Same release window as last month.
And?? What's your point?
They can still delay it. It's not like this never happened before..

You can keep your expectations low.
That way, it will be a surprise when the update drops earlier than your expectations.

How many pets are you betting on in the update? So far, we know for sure about 3:
- Pufferfish
- Axe Fairy
- Baby Satyr

I'm going to be optimistic and bet on 8 pets.

There's also the squirrel pet that I suggested! I was thinking of Mushroom Boi from Dead Cells too, but I checked and he's gonna be a minion.

Oh yes, I remember you, the guy who came up with the idea for a squirrel pet after the Battle of the Trees and the Axes.
However, this idea hasn't been confirmed by the developers yet, it hasn't been shown in a spoiler, and there's already one squirrel pet in the game, so your idea still remains in the realm of conjecture.

Well while there isn't anything confirmed, there was a lot of support for it, and Redigit reacted positively to some posts I made later about looking forward to the pet. As for the one already in the game, I assume you're referring to the sugar glider pet, but sugar gliders aren't squirrels; they're marsupials! I don't wanna set my expectations too high, but I'm hopeful.

They haven't really delayed it when the update has had a release window down to the month iirc.
