Happy Terraria Day!

Fourteen years ago today, a little game called Terraria launched on Steam and the rest is history. Since that time, over 64 million Terrarians across the globe have accepted the challenge - to traverse the dangerous biomes of Terraria in search of fortune, glory, and the defeat of the nefarious Moon Lord.To say we appreciate each and every one of you would be the understatement of all time. Quite simply, your support is what keeps Terraria alive, vibrant, and growing. Here’s to many more years of Terraria!

In celebration, we have released the latest in our “Retro Terraria” collection on Steam: Terraria 1.3 - Lunacy!

If you missed the first appearance of the Moon Lord, or you just want to check it out for the nostalgia, this is your chance! To play Terraria 1.3 - Lunacy! just select it from the available branches in your Terraria Steam properties menu. As always, these saves will be kept separate from your core game saves to avoid any issues.

We hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane, and we hope to have more news about the upcoming Terraria 1.4.5 update soon!

THANK YOU, TERRARIANS!!!

Congrats to Terraria on its 14th birthday! Can't believe it is already this old...

Fantastic news! Although I would like to ask: why is 1.3.0.8 the version chosen but not 1.3.0.1? I assume the former is the last version of base 1.3 before the content updates from that time period?

I've only been here since 1.4.3, but it's been a journey! I hope that the community and the game keep on going and growing!
I dare you to not call 1.4.5 the last update
And to never call any update the last one ever again

so glad to have been here on this journey, despite me being a little bit of a new comer in terms of the game's release (2021), i don't regret a minute of my 3000 hours on terraria throughout all the years.

Happy 14th birthday to the game that has helped me tons, I have spent thousands of hours on it and have no plan of stopping! <3:pinky:

According to the wiki it's probably because 1.3.0.8 is when it became playable on mac and linux, so it's probably the best version of 1.3.0.x.

1.3.3 was where it's at though

Happy birthday Terraria

1.3.3 was the sandstorm update!!! Also I can see how that can be the reason for that specific version. Otherwise, how else will everyone who doesnt use Windows play 1.3?

I remember when I gotten into Terraria for the first time... not 1.3, but the first version on mobile... the game has changed dramatically and so is the people I've interacted with over the years of getting into the community. I dont really engage with it much, but I still touch the game through tModLoader. I should give 1.3 A Link to Terraria a go.

yippiee

i keep forgetting 1.3 was released in 2015 so it's actually properly old now, it's just that as a mobile player we got it hella delayed so it still seems somewhat recent for me
i'll never forgive you devs /j /s /nm

Happy 14th anniversary, Terraria!

Happy 14th to my favourite game! It's come so long from an early release all the way back in 2011 to the single best selling indie game of all time, and it owes itself to the community and the devs working tirelessly to ensure perfection. I'm glad to be a part of it all, and I forever will be.

wish 1.2.4.1 and onwards were able to come to the gog version since gog started with 1.2.4.1.....

Amazing! Happy birthday Terraria!

Fourteen years of consistent bliss and continued entertainment. Here's to many more.

Happy birthday, fourteen years of traps (and fun)!

Happy birthday Terraria! Old enough to start high school, they grow up so fast 🥹.

Huh, was wondering how they'd handle the existence of tmod 1.3.5.3. Glad they didn't do the redundant option and just release a second branch for the same version.
