Not producing light means a lot more than just not using torches and glowsticks. To list a few of the less-intuitive restrictions:

- No magic weapon or summoning weapons, no guns or launchers, and only wooden/unholy/bone arrows with bows. No melee weapons that give off light when you attack.
- No NPC houses
- No campfires, sunflowers, heart lanterns, or similar aoe buffs that give off light.
- No minecarts, mounts, or accessories/armor that generates light
- No using furnaces, which means no crimtane, hellstone, or chlorophyte, and the only way to get hardmode bars is through crates.
- No crafting with any of the hardmode souls, which also means wings are near impossible to acquire before Plantera.
- No teleporting of any kind, whether it be with a recall potion, mirror, or conch.
- No crafting with the celestial pillar fragments
