Adventurer lost in the woods and hears the commotion about the spear encounter thing or whatever you'd call it? Is that a good introduction?

I guess if there's a town that's close to the forest, I could have my character start there.

I was thinking more a traditional village on the edge of the forest. Heck, we could actually have both.

Essentially the name idea was to name the town after an Ocarina of Time character in reference to how some characters in that game share their names with towns in Zelda 2.

Just name the town MURPHMARIO

I honestly don't care what you do. The name could be Kakariko village

Figured out the village name. It's "watched", due to the fact that the village is being watched by the trees of the nearby forest. Metaphorically, not literally, of course.
