tModLoader The Enigma Mod

It is totally possible! However, I will probably add a second Soul Stone, something like a Soul Crystal, that does it for modded bosses so that Soul Stone isn't too overpowered. Having all the bonuses in seperate accessories will make it less op, I think. Maybe even a Soul Stone for every mod! Like a Calamity Stone, an Enigma Stone for the Enigma bosses, a Thorium Stone, etc. I would need help from the mod creators themselves though.
That would be amazing. :D Those two are already part of the mod pack I use so that's just a bonus.
 
Hi this is a great mod so far, the potion crystals are elegant if a little op but i like the sprites and the way they combine, Particularly the mining and the building crystals! I'm so glad they no longer max out your buff slots!

While the gravity potions is powerful if you have 4 of the things then you are already able to find pretty much all the sky islands anyhow and they are accesible without the potions just a lot of platforms and ingenuity so its really a time saver.

It would be nice to see you implement your soul system or your potion crystal system into the weapons you create for this mod, so that its unique weapons are created by capturing the souls of bosses and combining them with weapons.

I have plenty of ideas I would be happy to offer up if you are interested ust hit me up with a pm.

Look forward to seeing what you create anyhow.
 
Hm... Implementing the Soul system into weapon crafting does sound interesting, but when you actually think about it, it would just end up being a drop from a boss being used as a material for a special weapon, which isn't anything new.

I do plan on using potion gems in future crafting recipes though! An example off of the top of my head would be having a recall gem that doesn't do anything by itself but can be crafted into a Magic Mirror somehow.

Hopefully I got that quoting thing right. You can brew everything down to just another drop and just another crafting recipe with a material to gather however theme is important. When you think about it your Soul stone is just an accessory that is essentially combined with other accessories to make an uber accessory. However that is ignoring the theme. the idea of tearing the soul from a boss to infuse your soul stone, armour, blade with some of its unearthly power is neat, if you think of it like that.

It all depends how much you let yourself get in to the immersion.

I suppose you're right. I'll look into some weapon ideas that could use the Soul Fragments.
 
I have a bug to report, I got the Slime King soul bonus AND the Eye of Cthulhu when I killed the Eye of Cthulhu (King Slime had not been killed yet). This was in a multiplayer world and it didn't happen to either of my friends. It wasn't just a text glitch either, I actually had the jump boost. :confused:
 
Im not sure i fully understand how the soul stone works, i have fought a lot of bosses and some of the abilities seem to have dissappeared and been replaced by others, is this a thing, what is the maximum amount of abilities it can hold?

There is no maximum! However, if you are doing multiple playthroughs at once, the Soul Stone is saved to the general Player file, so all characters have the same Soul Stone abilities. However, they are reset when you craft one, which is why new players get empty Soul Stones. If you would like to get the Souls back that you lost, you can craft Medallions from the expert mode drops from the bosses and right click them to get the Souls back. Hope that helps!

Also. I love H.P Lovecraft! You could have a giant Shoggoth mound as a boss, probably acts like a slime? Mystic class sounds neat, but you will need to make lots of new debuffs! In a mystic playthrough, how would you kill destroyer? He's immune to EVERY debuff.

Yes I've crafted medalions but the abilities no longer show up on the tool tip. I'm only using one charachter at the moment. Do some of the abilities merge together after a while? Like if I have 2 +1 summinings does it show +2 summoning on the tool tip?
 
Why is this mod in General Mod Discussion? Shouldn't it be in Work In Progress?
 
Same could be said about every other mod, dude. Including Calamity,etc. If it's not completed and finished and not being added onto. Thorium and Calamity still adds stuff so wouldn't that make em a Work in Progress?

What I'm saying is that a WIP mod should go into Work In Progress, or a Released mod into Released. Neither should be in General Mod Discussion.

I can't seem to replicate your situation... Can you take a screenshot of the Soul Stone for me, use the medallions, and then take another screenshot?

Oh! I would've totally put this in WIP mods if I had known how. I had spent over 2 hours researchign how to create a thread and I couldn't figure it out. Then, I suddenly saw the "Create Thread" button on the right and was like :O *insta click*. Sorry for the confusion ;-;

I'm pretty sure you can request a moderator to move it to Work in Progress.

Hey, this mod is pretty neat! I just tried it out, and I really liked the way the two bosses functioned, but their sprites could definitely use some work (unless those are just placeholders). If you need people to help sprite, just ask on pretty much any spriting channel in any mods discord. You're bound to find someone who'll be willing to help. The items are pretty nicely sprited, so good work!
