I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, but currently on GOG the latest version available for Windows is 1.4.1, but for Linux and Mac is 1.4.0.5.
I have no problems with the Steam version of Terraria (I got the 1.4.1 on Linux and Windows).

GOG tends to lag behind Steam a little bit when it comes to updates. Please check again after a day, and if it still hasn't updated, let us know and I'll bring it up with the team to investigate. Thanks!
 
The Mac/Linux versions have been pushed live on GOG, so it may just be that GOG is taking some time updating properly on your end.
