I wonder what Moon Lord's plan is. Anyway, how is this guy having a rough time with Skeletron Prime using a Plantera level weapon?

Bad armor, and at that point, I had not crafted a single buff potion. Secondly, hinted at still using standard healing potions. Most of this was rectified the second time around.

More importantly, dramatic tension.

Chapter thirty two: Power repurposed

The Moon Lord reached into the remains of Skeletron Prime, and fiddled around a bit... After a moment, he pulled out the remaining energy powering the mangled remains, and sent them to the Lunar Coven, with instructions to try and develop it further, and possibly even wield it. He also had other reasons for bestowing his power to them, rather than bringing it back... Which he would wait and see if it worked.

Summoning the body itself, he set it aside, and instead turned to the Jungle. Feeling it pulse slightly with the extra power that had leaked out, the Moon Lord tried again to concentrate it, pulling it into one spot. Focusing, it took a moment, but the Jungle's energies eventually pooled together, forming a small pink Bulb. Adjusting the magic in this bulb, the Moon Lord worked for a moment, including instructions to subtly spread seeds, and reproduce. Done, the Moon Lord let the Bulb be, to grow slowly and gain strength.

Glancing around at the Jungle, the Moon Lord saw that some of the mud had transformed, and had been transforming under the surface for a while. The grass would seem into the mud, and harden into a new type of substance, almost metallic in nature. Sensing that it would have powerful magical properties, the Moon Lord wondered why none of it had been mined yet.

Glancing at the Village, the Moon Lord saw that the Explorer was being hailed as a Hero, celebrated for their mighty battle. Slightly annoyed at the Villagers for doing so, he instead turned to watch the 'Hero' instead. They had forged an unusual weapon, a Pickaxe-cross-Axe, cast out of the metals that had housed the three Mechanical Beasts, and infused with their energies. Impressed by the possibilities of this new tool, the Moon Lord watched as they gave an experimental swing, then departed, heading off to the East once more.

The Moon Lord turned his attention to the Coven once more. Speaking with the Ancient Leader, he passed on instructions to raise a powerful army, using only the most powerful and skilled of the souls trapped within the Dungeon. The Coven dove into the task, leaving a few to worship the Tablet in which they had housed the fragment of his power. Leaving them to it, the army began to build, hiding in secret...

Pulling over Skeletron Prime to finally start on the repairs, the Moon Lord watched as the 'Hero' took the Pickaxe-axe to some of the Green Ore. As it tore through, the Ore quivered, and tried to reform. Only the sheer power of the new Tool was getting through it, not due to how hard it was, but because it needed to be torn off so quickly. Understanding how it had remained so long now, the Moon Lord got to work, and started coming up with some new ideas...

Loving the chapters you are really good. Sorry I am too lazy to go through and like all your posts as I just read them all.

Chapter thirty three: A restless jungle

The Moon Lord watched as the 'Hero' explored the Jungle, stopping whenever their Magical Lantern made nearby Ore glimmer. Ignoring any lesser metals they passed by, any Chlorophyte they came across was instantly harvested, and stored away. The Moon Lord did not know how they had come up with that name, but it seemed to fit, so he accepted it.

Stripping the Green Ore from near the surface, the 'Hero' went back, storing their harvest away. Setting off for the Jungle once again, each trip went a little deeper, drawing them in for just a little longer. The work was slow going, and they seemed to be trying to get a great amount of the ore, presumably because it would be so difficult to refine something so... Alive.

As the 'Hero' worked, the bulbs that the Moon Lord had planted grew, and spread even more of their kind. On one of the later trips, the 'Hero' saw one of the bulbs, and cautiously mined out an areas around it, keeping clear and making sure there was an open route to run, should the need arise. As the days drew on, this happened once or twice more, each bulb receiving the same treatment.

As the 'Hero's' stockpile grew, the Moon Lord thought. Thinking up a few separate plans, he reached out across the vast world, putting one into motion. Finding the evillest, the vilest, and the most horrifying of creatures, he wove subtle images into their heads, of the Village, and the Villagers dwelling within, currently helpless. Conveniently not showing the powerful and seemingly immortal being guarding said Village, the Moon Lord set out the bait, and waited to see if it would be snapped up...

As the Moon Lord wove his little trick, the 'Hero' was digging out a large cavern, scattering torches all around. The cavern rested on top of the Ancient Lizhard Temple, and spanned quite a distance. The Moon Lord quickly assumed it was made for the next battle, as the standard clearing would be too far away to use in this instance, let alone the creation, grown underground, may not appreciate the sunlight. Or, possibly appreciate it too much, dut to the plant like nature of it, and grow more powerful outdoors...

There were several little tunnels leading off of the Jungle Cavern, each leading to a glowing and pulsating Bulb. Returning home to put things away, the 'Hero' gathered up a stock of Potions, and rode the Minecart back. Settling into his throne, the Moon Lord watched on, waiting for the spectacle that was sure to follow.

Chapter thirty four: Carnivorous plant

The 'Hero' stood before the Bulb that was closest to the Jungle Cavern, readying themself first, drawing their weapon, and mounting up upon their Unicorn. Then, they cut open the bundle of pulsating energy, letting it loose upon the jungle. It flew out to a clump of bushes in the distance, soaking into them, and rearranging them into a gigantic version of the Bulb, letting loose a shriek as three Hooks were fired out, latching onto the surrounding walls.

The 'Hero' did not wait around, making their way back to the Cavern as soon as the shriek was heard. Ducking and weaving through the small tunnel, they glanced back at one point, checking that the Plant Terror had not fallen behind. The answer, it had not, and was slowly catching up. It seemed to pass straight through the Jungle, seeping through the mud like a plant's roots, and popping out the other side.

They both soon reached the Cavern, and the 'Hero' promptly downed all of their Buff Potions, turning to start the attack. The nicknamed Plantera responded by firing off a barrage of small seeds, sweeping them across the battlefield. Both combatants were hit, but the 'Hero' only once, and Plantera was struck by most of the Seedler's swings.

Dismounting, the 'Hero' mainly relied upon their Wings for dodging, as the Cavern was not quite suited for the usual strafing tactic. Plantera switched ammo, firing off a more concentrated Poison seed, hitting the 'Hero' in the thigh. Only faltering for a moment, they kept on swinging, holding off on their first potion for a little longer.

The battle alternated as such for a bit, both sides slowly chipping away at the other. The 'Hero', though, had their stockpile of potions, and Plantera did not. Sensing that the battle was not in it's favor, the Gigantic Plant changed ammunition once more, mashing several seeds together to form a ball of Thorns, and launched it out, bouncing around the Cavern.

Choosing to stay up near the roof, rather than risk the spiky death balls below, the 'Hero' clung to to ceiling for a moment, then flapped around some more, never once stopping their return barrage upon the Terrifying Plant. Seeing that the Balls were not reaching the target now, Plantera switched back to seeds, alternating the two types.

The 'Hero' grinned smugly as the battle drew on, avoiding the attacks pretty easily now. After a second failed attempt at hitting them with Thorn Balls, Plantera snapped, and the Bulb erupted into a maw of mighty pincers, spewing forth a dozen smaller Mouths to reach out and ensnare them. Dropping back down to the ground, the 'Hero' aimed their attacks at the center of the bitey chaos, blindly hoping to hit something, and succeeding every time.

As the smaller Mouths fell away, quickly being mashes into a gooey paste, Plantera lunged, trying to swallow them whole. The 'Hero' bolted, grazing themself on one of the Hooks that were keeping the Terror suspended. Drinking a potion to recover, they turned around, and got rid of the last of the straggling Mouths. Plantera retreated for a moment, releasing a cloud of spores as it did so.

Treading carefully as to avoid the attack from above, the 'Hero' focused on swinging for now, keeping an eye on the central Maw in case of another lunge. Which soon came, clipping the 'Hero' on the way past. The Monster's grip on the walls was slackening though, as it seemed that the Flowery Bulb that had been discarded had also been protecting it, and with it gone, Plantera was withering much faster.

Finishing it's lunging attack, the Planty Terror rose up, releasing another cloud of Spores. The 'Hero' did not stop swinging though, and the Monster could not hold up under that barrage, crumpling to the ground before all of the spores could even be released. Dodging the remainder of the falling debris, the 'Hero' drank a potion, in case of enemies coming, and strode forward, rummaging through the remains to see what they could find...

You guys seem to really love this!`:passionate: Now up to 350+ likes between the chapters, and 2500+ thread views. That's pretty impressive...

So, I'm closing down the poll, as I have an idea as to the next question... What to do once the story is done? There is only so much more I can write! '

how about this when the "hero" kills the moon lord he gets sucked into a alt dimension and goes through things like turning into a eator of souls or becoming the moon lord

Ths fight would've gone down a lot differently if it weren't for the Seedler. I know that at the time, you could fish it out pre-plantera, but it just feels too cheesy.

Not that much differently. You can make a megashark by that point, after all. The fight would have gone just as quick.

Plus: Shroomite armour >.> Only reason I hadn't is laziness.
Nevermind. Seems Shroomite is now Post-Plantera. Double edit!

Chapter thirty five: Solar Coven

As the Plant Terror fell, even more power was released, permeating the world. The Moon Lord reached down, and redirected it, sending it to the Dungeon for the Lunar Coven to infuse into their army, now ready to fight. Some of the power still dissipated, though, making the world a more dangerous place.

Some of this magic went downward, seeping into the Temple that the battle had taken place on top of. This small spark re awoke the ancient devices of the long dead Solar Coven, who had done their best to usurp the Moon Lord's power, and take control of even the celestial bodies that the Moon Lord controlled. Power Cells re-energised, and an ancient device began to stir...

A tiny scrap of the power coalesced into a key, which would grant passage into the Temple itself. Surrprised by this, the Moon Lord had not expected the secretive Solar Coven's abandoned stronghold to be accessible anymore, especially not from the remains of one of his creations. Perhaps it had been due to the power of the forest, free of his direct influence, which had done the trick.

The 'Hero' scooped up the key, and headed on inside, getting out Wire Cutters before they stepped over the threshold. Disabling any device they came across, the Temple was revealed to be ridden with traps, nasty ones that were deadly to an unprepared adventurer. A Lihzahrd Warrior spied the 'Hero', and dashed off, calling it's bretherin. The Lihzahrd had long since modified the traps, adding poison to some, and making them no longer trigger toward their kind.

Opening one of the Chests, the 'Hero' pulled out a Power Cell, and an ancient Solar Tablet. Glancing at the broken remains of one nearby, it would seem the Lihzahrd had tried using them on their own, but at the time, the magic in the air had not been strong enough for the effects to finish taking hold. Pocketing these items, the 'Hero' drew their weapon, and started to attack the oncoming angry mob.

As the 'Hero' fought and looted their way deeper, the Moon Lord reached out once more, and sent another message to the Vile Creatures that roamed the world, hiding. Planting another image, he hinted at the best time to strike, should the very sun dim, and nature subvert it's usual course. Letting the message sink in, the Moon Lord glanced at the Tablet shards, remembering the last time the Solar Coven had used them... And brought down his wrath. That was long ago though, and the world had grown peaceful for it, with the fading of Magic that had occurred from the mighty battle.

Remembering how he had fought the Coven, the Moon Lord froze. That could work. They should have recovered by now, possibly even grown stronger... And so the Moon Lord reached out, for different worlds, ones far off in the distance. Not finding anything on his first attempt, he would try again later, as he had forgotten where exactly everyone had run to. And so he reclined in his throne, and watched as the 'Hero' reached the ancient Chamber of Blaspheme, named as such for the experiments the Solar Coven had done there, trying to build something to rival even him...

This is some guuude writing. It may even rival the writings of Samrux the Paladin!

Chapter thirty six: A little more time

The 'Hero' looked around a little in the Chamber of Blaspheme, and disabled all of the traps, before approaching the Alter in the middle. Then, they set up some torches in the room, making sure everything was laid out correctly... And they left.

The Moon Lord was both unnerved by the sudden change of course, and relieved by it, as he had not yet prepared the next opponent yet. Once again, the Moon Lord reached out, probing around for one of the Colonies... And found one! Imbued with the power of fire, it was the Clan that relished battle most, and would charge in eagerly. Making a not as to where they were, the Moon Lord held off on calling them for a moment, in case they got over eager... There was still more the Moon Lord wanted to prepare, after all.

The 'Hero' did their usual post-foray loot sorting, and then got to crafting a few things, trying out some new tools, weapons, and armor. The Moon Lord thus swept his gaze to the Dungeon once more, to check up on the Lunar Coven and their progress with the army. The Ancient Leader of the Cultists greeted him, and reported that the raised army was ready, and incredibly strong... But due to the way they were made, they were bound to the Dungeon. The Moon Lord accepted this easily, as the 'Hero' had sought out all challenges thus far, and would likely just come to them.

And then, the Moon Lord went back to watching the 'Hero' as the night drew on. They had crafted random paraphernalia, the only useful item of which being the new Summoning Staff, which called forth a miniature likeness of the great Twin Eyes. Now, they were back underground, replenishing their stock of Light and Dark Souls.

And then the dawn broke, the sun rose... And a disturbance was felt, rippling through the land as the moon suddenly appeared in front of the sun, blocking it out. Looking at the Lihzahrd Temple, one of them had activated a Solar Tablet, and they were celebrating, as they believed that they would burn the Stranger that had come, by bringing the sun down upon them.

While that would not happen, the Solar Eclipse brought forth danger nonetheless. For the Vile Creatures that the Moon Lord had called stirred, with the weaker ones already on their way to the Village. The stronger Monsters held back, only interested in a challenge, which the visions had left out completely. The Moon Lord smiled, as they would surely be convinced before long.

Chapter thirty seven: A darkened dawn

At first, it was mostly the mindless monsters that came forth, trying to get at the people holing themselves up within. The 'Hero' had already settled into their customary bunker, and released a flock of Eyes to deal with the swarm outside.

The first thing to be shot down was a deformed man servant, leaping at the bunker screaming "Fritz will bring back the best of samples for master!" The remains of Fritz barely nudged into the Bunker's wall, as another servant of the same master, a man-made Zombie, came shambling forward with a growl. The remains of that one didn't even manage to bump into the walls, having been taken down so far away.

Next came some horrible miss-match of a Zombie and a Demonic eye, firing lasers as it shambled forward. It took a few more hits to take down, but not many. Then, came a poor little girl, Possessed by an evil spirit, came crawling forward, trying to latch onto a wall. It managed to get to one due to the increasing number of enemies, but found itself back on the ground again anyway, having been shot down.

Last came the things crawling out of the nearby lakes, one a Swamp covered Thing that held back, startled by the unexpected resistance. The other kind, the Creatures from the Deep, had no such misgivings, and suffered for it, leaving the Swamp Things to be chased down by the Summoned Eyes. Both came from the same lakes, and both met the same end.

Wave upon wave of these creatures came, eventually calling forth spectral Reapers to try and harvest the dead. Getting distracted by the powerful soul of the living, they went straight into the swinging blade of the 'Hero', as they leapt out, beginning to pick up various items that the creatures had left behind. Once the looting was done, they retreated once more, letting the Eyes take back over.

And so the enemies fell, and the watchers grew excited, anticipating an unexpectedly worthy opponent. And so they rallied together, as the Moon Lord watched the next wave set forth, bearing down on the village.
