The Destroyer
honestly i could really divide it into 3 (technically 2.5) types:That reminds me, I've never understood why every circle tool I've ever used starts at one corner, and then drags another corner, neither of which are on the circle and are instead just the corners of the box containing the circle.
I mean, sure, in Microsoft Word it works that way because that's how it handles any shape.
But why does an art program do that? It feels like it'd be better to select the center point, and then adjust the radius.
1. "square-based", the one you described first where you just draw an imaginary box with the circle inside of it, and parts of the circumference of the circle are the same as the box at 4 points with a 90° angle difference
2. "radius based", the second one you mentioned, where one point is the center of the circle and the other is somewhere on the circumference
3. "diamater based", similar deal but the lines go from one point on the circumference to the point opposite/180° to it
imo all 3 have their respective cases where they're good or bad to use, though yeah the first type is definitely more common
