For those of you that don't know, the Little Free Library is an idea where people can take a free book from a small setup and leave one in return for someone else. What does this have to do with Terraria? While TCF doesn't deal with books, they do deal with information!

Here's how it works. Simply leave a fact that you consider useful. It could be a tip for people that are just starting out, a hint for certain types of setups, or secrets that many might not be aware of. There are no limits to what you can post other than that the facts need to be about Terraria, obviously. You can post as many facts as you want or add to something that others have stated. It doesn't matter how well known the fact is; all are welcome since there is always a chance that somebody didn't know it. The goal is to give people some better insight to the game's mechanics, nuances, and secrets.

I will go ahead and start with a few.

- If you wear sunglasses, then the sun will wear them, too.
- Creating an above-ground glowing mushroom biome and getting the truffle npc at the beginning of hardmode will give you access to few great items early on.
- Mimics in an ice biome give different items than other mimics.

Post some of your own!

The WOF can be easily defeated with a flat path and beenades
Rarely, ducks say the word quack in a manly voice instead of quacking
Wings can be easily obtained at the beginning of hardmode by moving the witch doctor to the jungle biome at night and buying leaf wings for 1 platinum

You can right-click to go back by one when choosing your haircut at the character creation screen ;)

Many new haircuts are not affected by the invisibility potion

A nimbus rod is worthwhile to farm because it can destroy the destroyer and be used as a battery for the healing spectre armor.

So, a little piece of advice for the players of Terraria? Let me inform you about a tip so well known that nobody bothers to mention it, even when they succeed with completing this task over the course of the game. This trick is only fully achievable by the very best, and the very careful. This information, if you succeed and fulfill it, will make even hardcore less frustrating.
The legendary piece of advice is:
Don't die.

OMG YOU KNOW THERES AN UNWRITTEN RULE THAT YOURE NOT SUPPOSE TO TELL PEOPLE THAT.

THE WORLDS GONNA END

NOOOOOOOOOO

*SPLOSIONS*

Want certain hardmode ores but you're tired of constantly creating worlds and going through the whole process? Hardmode ores are determined upon breaking altars, not at map generation. If you save the game right before breaking an altar, you can quit (exit the game WITHOUT saving) and try again to get whichever hardmode ores you want.

Dao of Pow is surprisingly useful for the early Hardmode tiers, and can be crafted with no HM ores or mech bosses. Its damage outperforms any other True Flail in its respective tier, can be gotten immediately after killing the WoF (pending Shard RNG) and its Confusion debuff is single handedly the most useful early HM item for surviving high level invasions like Eclipse or Pirates, as well as exploring Crimson and Hallow HM variants.

In a similar vein, the fairly rare Beam Sword has a higher DPS than most HM swords, and in fact outdamages the Excalibur by 66% and has a projectile. It is the best sword before the HM Jungle and Eclipse by a significant degree. It also can be found within minutes of beating the Wall of Flesh with no HM mode gear, assuming the RNG favors you.

NPC rooms need a door or wooden platforms to ensure the room isn't 'cut off' from the rest of the map by solid walls.

Nobody ever said the NPC living in the room had to be able to reach the door, though.

You can keep up to 3 quest fish if you keep one in your cursor and trash the other
You can keep up to 2 accesories if you put one in the vanity slot and right click the one in the inventory (you can have even 3 but thats a little complicated)
Finding a skeleton statue early game and conecting it to a dart trap wire makes a decent farm assuming the skeleton drops: Bone sword - 18 silver, Ancient Iron helmet - 10 silver / gold hemet - 50 silver and hooks that you can combine easily with 3 chainz to make a grappling hook - 40 silver
Titanium armor is better than hallowed armor

You can actuate traps. (Saw this from Yrimir)
On Console/Mobile, one of the main things to get Corruptible/Hallowed Be Thy Name is removing blocks that can't get infected, not just infecting blocks. (Saw from I think Leinfors, maybe another forum moderator)

Just found out this pointless piece of trivia yesterday.

Holy Arrows and Hellfire Arrows are both triggered as soon as they are destroyed, not as soon as they hit an enemy. If an Holy Arrow had to be given piercing capabilities, it would not create stars on hits that don't destroy the arrow itself. Hellfire Arrows on the other hand, no matter their piercing, they will always destroy themselves on the first enemy hit and trigger the explosion. Also, Chlorophyte Arrows with extra piercing can bounce back more than once (literally forcing the arrow to bounce back and forth on the same line untill it runs out of pierces).

It's technically modding, but it's always cool to know how the game mechanics work and how they can break.
