Weapons & Equip The Poltergeist Staff - A Hardmode summon weapon

The Poltergeist Staff

Appearance: The Poltergeist Staff will summon a Haunted hand. Each hand summoned will appear as a hand that floats above or around the player. It will have a ghastly aura and a phasing effect like the one seen with the Spooky Armor.

Obtaining: This staff would have a fair chance of being dropped by Crimson Axes from the Crimson or Haunted Hammers from the Corruption.

Ability: The Haunted Hands, when summoned, will be able to use a weapon that you drop from your inventory. It will use the weapon and maintain whatever DPS the weapon has. They cannot use summon weapons. If a weapon uses mana or ammo then it will pull from your own supply instead of creating its own. When unsummoned, the weapons will return to your inventory.

Hmm, wouldn't it take a lot of work jsut to make this staff possible? Having the summon be able to pick up any weapon seems like a hard task. How would the weapons be used when not used by the player?

Yeah, I don't know about this one, chief. Most summoners aren't going out of their way to get weapons from other classes, which means that if you want to use this, most of the time you'll be stuck with whatever you're lucky enough to have. Best case scenario, it's a Daedalus Stormbow or a Drippler Crippler, but most of the time it'll be an Orichalcum Sword or a Magic Knife. And for resource-consuming weapons, you'd have no control over the resource consumption, meaning there's a good chance you'll run out at bad times (especially with a Magic weapon). And if it's using the weapon's stats, it wouldn't have very good DPS, since you're almost certainly a Summoner when you're using this.

Don't get me wrong, I think the concept of this weapon is very cool, but I just don't think it quite fits in the game.
