melee flip it and turn it into a shield which launches your character in a spiky thingy for a melee character
summoning Maybe a staff that summons this thing
ranged Shrink it and make it a gun
throwing take the orb at the front and throw those

accessory flip it for a shield and have an op shield of Cthulhu

Maybe it can rarely drop a mount that summons a rideable version of this that fires lasers at nearby enemies? IDK seems like a cool thing to be able to ride
