Healing is actually really weak when you play it normally or with other healing tools, but the ones I mentioned let you effortlessly defeat Ragnorak in Expert on your first try (and we did, first time ever summoning it)
If you want to try it out yourself, the cheapest method is Life's Gift + Wynebgwrthucher + Mana Cuffs and about 6+ additional healing. You sit on the same tile as your friend and spam Life's Gift as long as you're both taking damage, you'll never run out of mana and never die with decent armor, you don't need to dodge attacks or focus on high defense or anything. Wynebgwrthucher also benefits from additional healing which helps you stay alive if you're like me and play weaker defense, but the real gamebreaking comes from Life's Gift both healing and triggering self-heal for 6 * (2 + ~6) health every second, giving you ~48 hp/s or if you use Hallowed Paladin set (highly recommend, +5 is a bunch) ~66 hp/s. Combined with invincibility frames, this fully negates incoming damage
Now, it's not that healing is super duper strong, but rather that "burst" healing items like Life's Gift and Mist Weaver which have the potential to heal multiple times can be exploited this way by simply standing still and making sure they do. I actually agree healing isn't really useful otherwise until endgame and I'd say buff regular healing, but burst healing is crazy
So this weird NPC showed up, has pink wings, a pumpkin head, apparently is an Amalgamationn and sell a standard and the blood charm. So I'm guessing this is some phenomena caused by Fargo's? The NPC reminds me of the mutant from that and is basically functioning as the same thing, my question is, why is it taking up a slot and how do I get rid of it?

I remember at one point just completely nullifying any challenge posed by the Expert Moon Lord by sitting the tank and I in a box and just firing the Divine Staff at a tight angle, so I just healed them for like 18 + bonus multiple times in one shot, while still healing myself if I needed it. Granted, that's end-game stuff, but yeah, it takes time, but healer can get really silly with the right setups.

- Warnings The following should not be active while playing the Thorium Mod: Steam Cloud Saves:Cloud saves break mod generated ore and the Aquatic Depths. If cloud saves are active and you generate a world/load a world, you will lose ALL modded tiles in the world. This loss is irrecoverable; Don't let it happen to you!
Boss Expertise: Boss expertise is a great mod offering the ability to fight expert-leveled bosses in normal mode. Unfortunately however, the mod conflicts heavily with the Fallen Beholder, Abyssion, Lich, and Ragnarok boss encounters. Therefore, it is advised you do not use the mod with Thorium. (or at the least, with those four boss fights)
- Download - Mod Version 1.4.0.5 The Terraria Community Forums cant handle a +16MB sized file, so a download has been placed on MediaFire for your convenience. Click here for a manual download

do you by "accident" load a world when you have thorium enabled and then disabled for other world and then re-enter that world? because if its that you need to make another one, it happen to me and its not funny.

No thats not whats causing the issue but I just wanted to adress it because many people have the same thing happen to them.

I have made about twenty worlds all except one failed. And when I logged into the world that did not have a glitched Aquatic biome for the second time it glitched.
So I'm unsure if this is a Thorium based issue or something else is colliding with the item, but anytime I hover over the Lil' Devil's Wand in the Spiritualist's shop Terraria crashes with a gibberish (to me) pop up that I assume is a crash log. I've not seen any other items do it, and I even turned off the two other mods I have running (AllBlend v0.3.2 and Reduced Grinding v4.19) I'm on Thorium v1.4.0.6, so I know that is updated, so I am not sure what is going on.
I have a Runtime Error log showing "
Begin cannot be called again until End has been successfully called.
at Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics.SpriteBatch.Begin(SpriteSortMode sortMode, BlendState blendState, SamplerState samplerState, DepthStencilState depthStencilState, RasterizerState rasterizerState, Effect effect, Matrix transformMatrix)

I'm sure you think it's the items, but it's probably just that you're good at the game, because I'm moderately certain that I could do the same setup with Heart Lanterns, Star Lanterns, campfires, and honey thrown in for good measure, and still get my butt soundly kicked unless I was playing with one of my friends who's really good at the game.
I was thinking of installing this and I know you need to make a new world for the new ores to appear, but would there be any side effects of using an existing character?

well I'm good at finding gamebreaking setups but gameplay with this setup consists of hooking the ground and clicking a lot in one location
you can definitely be immortal with one friend and the items I suggested, heart lanterns campfires and honey might get you I guess 8 or so hp/s and you still have to dodge attacks but this gives you ~48 hp/s with modest equipment effectively negating incoming damage
again, it's not healing in general, I definitely agree it's pretty weak played 'as intended', but taking advantage of multiple healing projectiles all benefiting from bonus healing each cast just makes things too easy, like sit in one spot and kill expert ragnorak easy
speaking of which, it'd be good if ragnorak had some way to force players out of cheese, like how wof forces players to move or take heavy damage. maybe give him irresistable knockback that detaches hooks on certain, easy-to-dodge attacks just as one preventative measure to strategies like this
The Compa Dagger
Poison Pricklier + 50 Life Quarts + 20 Spider Fangs
An powerful Healer item that inflicts Regeneration to allies and Venom to enemies
Paradoxical Scales
Dread Soul + Unfathomable Flesh + Geode + Green Dragon Scale + Harbinger Catalyst
An Duke-Level material that are used for Summoner Armor, an Burst-Fire Shotgun (Cruel Leo), an 3-Shot Crossbow (Sinister Cancer), an mighty Sentry weapon (Uncaring Scorpio), an a set of wings that buffs the damage of minions (Buried Ophiuchus), and other summon tools, and a summon weapon (Crying Gemini) to boot
I.E.D.
10 Dynamite + Radar (Makes 50)
An far more powerful version of the Sticky Dynamite that triggers whenever an player projectile or enemy gets nearby it
