The throwing class had potential, but it was just a dumb subclass of ranged that did absolutely nothing to differentiate itself. This post reworks the throwing class, and makes it a proper class till endgame.

First, there will be three main weapon types, knives, javelins and shurikens. Other smalls sub-weapon types include a few new grenades and molotovs.
The class will be based around consumables, there will only be, like, 5 non-consumable throwing weapons.
Gloves are slightly expanded upon. Basically, gloves will throw everyday items instead.
So as to actually convince one into using throwing weapons, I decided to give each weapon type a cool ability!
  • Knives: Quickest and weakest, they are not affected by gravity, when hitting an opponent, they gouge into them, dealing ¼ of the original damage every tick for 2-4 seconds. Non-retrievable. Doesn’t pierce. Regular enemies have a max of 3 knives at once, bosses have 8.
  • Javelins: Slowest and strongest, they are very affected by gravity, they “impale” regular enemies, carrying them along till the end of its trajectory. Non retrievable. On bosses, it pierces instead, and they inflict Bleeding for 10 seconds.
  • Shurikens: The middlemen in terms of stats, they are slightly affected by gravity, pierce infinitely, no I-frames, and they spin in the air, gaining 1 damage every quarter second.
So, throwing will have a brand new mechanic – Stealth.
Stealth builds up as you are stationary. It increases your damage, movement speed, makes you transparent, and cuts your aggro. Using items does not increase aggro. You lose a stage stealth when hit. It takes about 3 seconds to reach a stage.
There are ten stealth stages.
  • Stage 1 – 5% throwing damage, +10% movement speed, -100 aggro
  • Stage 2 – 10% throwing damage, +20% movement speed, -200 aggro
  • Stage 3 – 20% throwing damage, +30% movement speed, -300 aggro
  • Stage 4 – 25% throwing damage, +40% movement speed, -400 aggro
  • Stage 5 – 30% throwing damage, +50% movement speed, -500 aggro
  • Stage 6 – 40% throwing damage, +60% movement speed, -600 aggro
  • Stage 7 – 50% throwing damage, +70% movement speed, -700 aggro
  • Stage 8 – 60% throwing damage, +80% movement speed, -800 aggro
  • Stage 9 – 70% throwing damage, +90% movement speed, -900 aggro
  • Stage 10 – 85% throwing damage, +100% movement speed, -1000 aggro
I'll do armors first.
Throwing armors will be in between ranged, magic and summoning in terms of defesne.
Alright, before we begin, I want to say something.
Pre-hardmode has no new armors, just repurposed ones.

My point was that, as it has been removed, a suggestion for changes to the class is irrelevant.
I don't seem to understand your logic. What I do understand from this logic, is that any throwing additions are pointless, be it a mod or suggestion.
So I'll just delete this entire thread and forgo the hours of spritework that went into it.
No biggie.
