For whatever absurd reason, "ranged damage" gets translated as "Danno Boomerang" (boomerang damage), which makes no sense.
It should (obviously) be translated with "a distanza".

Looking at the "LATEST LANGUAGE PACK/LOCALIZATION FILE - 1.4.4.9" localization file provided here:

literally every time ranged/distance damage is mentioned in other languages, it is instead written as "boomerang damage" in every tooltip in italian

just...why would anyone think it makes sense?

Such absurd jokes are everywhere in Terraria.
In Chinese for example, a notorious translation is "Exquisitely Stuffed", which is translated into "精美毛绒玩具", literally "Exquisite Plushie".

But in Oct's state, Loki has said that "This should ulimately yield better translations for existing content that more accurately take game context into account." So wait and see.

I don't understand, wait and see what?
It's a translation mistake, how do I make it more clear.
I already played the game 5+ years ago and the translation was correctly made with "a distanza"

I know I can change .wld file to change NPC names, and I saw that localization excel.
Can I fix it myself somehow?

I know what u mean. I just gave a similar example in Chinese, showing that we all suffering from this.

U can search & subscribe a Language Pack in Workshop. I've searched for u, only one result found. U can check it out whether it solves ur problem. If not, u can learn how to make a language pack and do it urself.
