Things that you didn't realize were in the game for the longest time?

Flasks. I never bothered talking to the witch doctor until my first summoner play through recently and I was curious about the imbuing station. I always kept bottles of water on me for potions and I had just explored the jungle, so I had stingers and I worked out what a flask was.

I was inspired to make this thread when I was looking through the wiki and I saw... A desert minecart? I have literally never even heard of this or so much as seen it once briefly, but yep, apparently it's real.

(Honourable mention to the bone sword dropped by skeletons, but I found out about that before I joined the forums. And reading the wiki about it, I found there's a bone pickaxe dropped by undead miners! Oh, Terraria's maze of content! )

Anyway, what's something you just found out existed in Terraria? It has an enormous amount of content; I'm interested to see what everyone says.

I knew about the Winter Cape, the Crimson Cloak and the Mysterious Cape all from the traveling merchant, but I thought it was just those 3

a surprising amount of devices are still stuck on a version before hair dye/the stylist was added

meaning that there is someone out there who just got terraria and is confused at to why golem is the final boss. the frost moon doesn't exist. and the drax can be found in shadow chests

I'm not joking, I think one case was on a device called an I-pad mini? or something the like.
