Casual Things you believed when you were very young

I'm still technically a kid, but i used to think Cheetos were potato chips.

I used to think gay people didn't start existing until 2020

This is true for me in particular because thats when I turned 13... And :red: happened. And stuff.

(Edit: I am not gay)

This still going? In that case, have another one.
Clouds! They're sometimes so large, I feared they could fall from the sky, like a super mega blanket, and suffocate us all. :merchantnaughty:

Why did so many of you guys not know what gay people were when you were younger

I thought the sun was alive for a year because my brother said it was once. I believed that the school was either lying or stupid and I fought against everyone that said it wasn't alive. I'd consider anyone who said it wasn't alive as an absolute idiot too. I even made up my own arguments "if it's not alive, how is it spinning?" or "how would it give out light?". Eventually this fight I had with my poor teacher came up in a conversation with my brother and he was like " what are you talking about? Sun isn't alive I never said that". I wanted to believe that he suddenly became stupid as well but I think I admitted defeat at that point. I think I was about 9 at this point. Obviously I know to check my sources nowadays.

For some amount of time I thought the earth was flat. I was like 5. There’s an old flash game called Riddle School that DanTDM played, where you had to escape school. In one of the classrooms “The earth is flat” was written on a chalkboard, so I just assumed it was true. I had never really thought the shape of earth before then anyway.
Then I had my space phase and obviously knew the earth is not flat and is a velociraptor.
