Resolved Trying to host a server and i get an error

Im trying to start a server through the host & play option. Everytime I try it says starting server and about 3 seconds later I get an error popup and the server never starts. The error message is this:
"System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Terraria.Main.DedServ()
at Terraria.Program.LaunchGame(string[] args, Boolean monoArgs) "

I have tried reinstalling the game verifying the files through steam I even tried deleting the images folder off a recommendation from another thread.
