Empress of Light
Introduction:

Terraria has quite a lot of 'Underground Variations' we have Underground Corruption, Jungle, Hallow, Snow, Desert, (If you count pyramids) and the newly (Slightly) added
Underground Crimson. However, one of these 'Variations' is missing and I believe it deserves a 'variation'.

I hope this addition can add stuff that interests you and expands the ocean by adding a whole new level!

Featuring:
  • Brand new monsters! (Sharks, MOAR Jellyfish, Electrifying Eeels, Sea Snakes?!, Sea Horses and fishy references!)
  • Bosses! (King Crab, Poseidon, King Jell-O and The Kraken!?)
  • Underground Mossy Temple! (New traps, dungeon and oh yeah...water.
  • Trenches! (Gulpers, Angler Fish (Rename the normal Angler Fish to Blood Angler, meaning variations!)
  • Items, ore (Coralbite!), accessories and armour! (British spelling :p)
  • 'A huge Tsunami is upon us!' Fish flying across the world (Not literally :p) landing in different biomes affecting themselves!
Pack your Breathing Read and Flippers, It's going to be a long dive!

Monsters: (Tell me if this needs work.)

Megalodon (Hardmode shark) (Thanks!, @Evolvedgamer)
HP: 1500 (Come on....It's terrifying.)
Debuffs: Bleeding
Defence: 15
Damage: 50
Drops: Shark Fin: 10-15 100%
'Resurrected by twisted science!'

See Snake (PUNS!)
HP: 150
Debuffs: Blindness (Hehehe)
Defence: 5
Damage: 10
Drops: Snake Skin: 2-3 25%
'It will stare into your soul...'

Sea Horse (I LOVE IT!)
HP: 120
Debuffs: None
Defence: 10

'NIIIIIEEEEEGGGGGH!'

Drops: Light Bulb 15%
Angler Mask 0-5% (TOTALLY won't look like the Angler NPC.)
'Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...'
Will use it's light as bait, so make sure you can see clearly!
Angler Fish (Thread use).png
(Thanks!, @DarkSonic)

Minibosses:
king crab (Thread use).png
(Thanks!, @DarkSonic)
King Crabstickz
(AIAIAIAIAIAIAIAI) Please, get that reference.....XD
Hp: 5000
Debuffs: ???
Defence: Phase 2 (Only) 25
Damage: 50
Drops:
Crab Shells 100%
King Crabstickz Mask 15%
Crabz Staff: ???
Kingly Crown: ???

This fight acts a little bit like the brain of Cthulhu where you have to fight the Creepers before you can attack the main brain. (Insane in the membrane.....INSANE IN THE BRAIN!)

Phase 1: KC spawns 50 Crabs (100 HP) (0 Defence) (5 Damage) to fight you while he hides in his shell. (SCREW LOGIC.)
Phase 2: KC cracks his shell and enrages, swiping with his claws. The fight then plays out like Skeletron, but instead of spinning his head (XD), he hides back in his
shell.

Additional Features: (Expect more info!)

  • Wave mechanics! (Linking to King Crabstickz spawn area.)
  • Being able to travel to the other side of the world when reaching the end of the ocean.
  • Underground Temple: Key unlocked in the dungeon.
  • Tsunami event; Fish invasion

You may be wondering "How can the Ocean be expanded for this to fit?" A: Stretch out the Ocean Biome a bit and make it deeper, reaching to almost underworld level with underwater caverns and trenches. (Thanks for the idea!, @Hero of Terra)

Well, this is a WIP, so expect more later!

Sharks, sea horses? Not bad, but it's nothing new. Everyone who ever watched documentary film about sea depths will know those bad guys:

They're scary, aren't they?
And what's about prehistoric creatures?

I think it's better idea than normal ocean animals, like sharks and jellyfish.

(sorry for big images)
Angler fish are already in-game.

Wait, I got an idea! Electric eels! I know they aren't saltwater but who cares?

Sorry but, this, just doesn't work, if you made the ocean that deep then it would look really weird and if you didn't then this wouldn't work at all.

And it's kinda the same thing as the mech bosses, there doesn't HAVE to be an underground for each biome. Geez, what's coming next? An underground hell? Oh wait, I already saw that suggested...

The trenches would be part of the Water Temple, which would lead to trenches, featuring dark ocean mobs such as eels and gulpers (Thanks, @TheQuietBisharp and @Maślak) And a few little water caverns. Besides what's so bad about variants? You forget about King Slime and Queen Bee when you enter Hardmode anyways.

Here are Ideas I think would fit for such a expansion for the Ocean

Mobs

1. Megalondon (a hardmode variant of the Shark)
2. Baliosaurus (a hardmode variant of Orca)
3. Giant squid
4. Archelon (Aquatic Version of Tortiose) Spawns in Ocean Nearest to Jungle
5. Titanaboa (giant sea snake) Spawns in Ocean Nearest to Jungle

BOSSES

1. Moby :red: (Drops Blubber when killed)
2. King Krab (drops Armor shell shards)
3. Kraken (drops beak, and Tenticals when killed)
4. Mechanical Golem ( drops Steel plates when killed)
