Weapons & Equip Upgrade for the Terraspark Boots

Probably controversial, but Terraspark is obtainable so early into hard mode and by the time you get to the endgame they feel so sluggish when compared to wings, you rarely find yourself on the ground anymore. Many of the "terra" items in the game get upgraded by the point of Moon Lord's defeat, despite being iconic, so why not these boots?

Keeping with the crafting tree we already have, I think the boots should combine with one final new item, dropped by Moon Lord himself or crafted with the 4 fragments at an ancient manipulator. My idea for something balanced would be "Lunar Laces" which gives you an immunity timer for swimming in shimmer, similar to the lava immunity timer the boots already have. This would allow you to avoid phasing for a short duration.

Combining these laces with the Terraspark Boots would yield the "Moonwalkers", which I imagine as a pair of Converses for some reason, lol. The laces themselves should also have a movement speed buff, that way the upgraded shoes will allow traversal at an even quicker pace than the Terraspark, putting them on par with endgame wings.

Terraspark boots are NOT hard mode. They are pre boss. Anyways, TSpark boots were only added because the people kept pestering Red about them. He thought a combination of Lava waders and FSpark boots would be to powerful. This will probably never happen. I do like the idea of another boot set, but I doubt it will ever appear in game.

I agree with MoultenLava. Terraspark boots are the best boots in the game, and can be obtained post Brain of Cthulhu/Eater of Worlds. Red was already thinking Terraspark boots are too powerful, so I don't think he'd add an alternative, which is for the best. This being post-ML would fix balancing issues, but then the accessory would also serve no real function, since you already beat the game. Sorry, no support.

Please please please buff lava waders before doing anything else to terraspark I am begging you. I’ve been saying this since 2018 and terraspark’s addition only proved what I was trying to say back then: accessories have higher opportunity cost than potions and need to be stronger than them to compensate, NOT weaker. Potions can be obtained in infinite amounts insanely fast once you bother to learn any of the basics involving them and are not a grind. Especially when compared to lava waders, which I remind you, are worse than potions.

Then feel free to not use them? But they still have tons of other utility (including extra flight once your wings run out, fast sprinting if you are on the ground, and walking on liquids).

Because they are already op as heck, and were only added after people bothered red about it for years. This item is already the compromise.

...this, I would actually be okay with... it's mostly cosmetic, and a very minor new bonus, yet still feeling fresh and new and cool. I saw "upgrade terraspark boots" and immediately went on the defensive; since most of the other post asking for an upgrade are things like "combine it with the eol flight accessory thing for infinite flight!" or something crazy like that, or "combine it with the ankh shield/moon charm". But this? a minor feature to keep it up to date with modern terraria seems perfect!

...and this, despite being an upgrade, I also agree with. For endgame boots that include hermes and lightning boots, they dont feel very fast... Let them be fast. Let them be too fast, and annoying to use unless you're fighting a boss.

If the roller skates that were teased were an accessory (they are a mount) and if they were post mechs, I think a combination of them and the terraspark boots would be great

That is not a great idea, you are just tier locking it to a certain tier with no rhyme or reason (feels like on of the bandaid patchs Calamity does to vanilla content, if I am being honest). This is worse, since ectoplasm is post Plantera, the same time you get access to Soaring Insignia, which invalidates TSpark when used with wings. TSpark's obtainability early on if you are willing to grind for them makes them fairly unique. If you really want it to be tier locked, something like post Skeletron makes more sense, since most people go to the Underworld at that time.

I would like to point out that there is already a way to avoid shimmering.
The Chromatic Cloak, acquired by shimmering the Star Cloak. I would like to see that included in the recipe, but a new item dropped by ML which gives temporary immunity is terrible.

As Moss mentioned, the Chromatic Cloak already exists as an early-Hardmode accessory, which is a direct upgrade to these Lunar Laces. If such an upgrade is made, use the Chromatic Cloak instead, it's better in every way lol.

Not including the Frog Leg gives the Amphibian Boots an actual reason to exist. If the Frog Leg was further combined with another movement accessory, the Master Ninja Gear might make more sense, or at least the Tabi + Frog Webbing as a side-grade

Pretty sure the benefit is the superior jump speed, the reason you'd want the Frog Leg in the first place, allowing faster vertical mobility at the cost of not having the flight time. The one reason someone would want it in the Terraspark Boots in the first place.
