PS Vita Using quick shortcut

Any way to actually use quick shortcuts? As far as I understand, the last update broke new installs in the sense that it removed quick shortcuts for d-pad and replaced them with manual cursor. I'd really like to be able to use quick shortcut, it'd be very helpful
