Valhalla and Shinobi armor vs Beetle armor comparison.

Flint🪓

The Axe
In this thread I will compare both valhalla and shinobi armor vs beetle armor. Both of these begin post-golem you may be undecided which one you should choose. So...

In this post I will compare these 3 sets.

It will be divided in 2 sections, both for defensive (valhalla vs beetle with shell) and offensive (shinobi vs beetle with scale mail). Things that will be taken into account for this comparison will be their stats and avability they provide. For last comparing and my opinion both at each section. And for the end include a conclusion.

Defensive - (valhalla vs beetle with shell)

Beetle armor with shell:

Stats (full set):
  • +73 defense.
  • +5% melee crit. chance.
  • +11% melee dmg.
  • +6% melee speed.
  • +6% movement speed.
  • Total of +900 agro.
  • Beetle endurance effect: the longer you avoid taking dmg, the more dmg reduction you will have for the next hit (15%, 30% and 45%), these stack with endurance potions and worm scarf.
Avability:
  • Crafted with turtle armor piece and beetle husks dropped from Golem. (Total of 54 chlorophyte bars, 3 turtle shells and 18 beetle husks).
Valhalla armor

Stats (full set):
  • +68 defense.
  • +10% melee damage.
  • +20% melee critical strike chance.
  • +60% summon damage.
  • +3 sentry slots.
  • +20% movement speed.
  • +4 hp/second regen.
  • Buff to ballista sentries.
Avability:
  • Bought from the Tavernkeeper post-golem for a total of 150 defender medals.
Comparison
  • Beetle armor has better raw stats for a defensive build.
  • Valhalla has it´s regen buff that over time gives you a huge amount of heal.
  • Valhalla has much better offensive stats while still giving good defensive stats (beetle shell gives really bad offensive stats)
  • Valhalla gives not only melee but summon stats, giving more damage to side minions too along side giving sentries (+3 slots) and buffing ballista sentries.
  • Beetle endurance buff along side endurance potion and worm scarf gives you insane dmg reduction.
  • Beetle armor may be better for multiplayer due to it giving extra agro, allowing a player to use a tank build to help other players.
Opinion

Aight, looking at this they are pretty close to each other, though... looking deeper in things like avability beetle armor it´s much easier to get since you only need to kill golem a few times to have enough beetle husks while valhalla takes 2 OOA events which can be quite harder than just killing golem a few times...

On the other hand, valhalla extra regen alongside giving sentry slots may give you an easier time fighting the pillars + giving actual offensive stats (unlike beetle shell). Not to mention beetle endurance only lasts for the next hit which after that you have to avoid attacks for it to recharge. Valhalla in the time you avoid things heals you by a lot.

Id´say they are both neat but moving on...

Offensive - (shinobi vs beetle scale mail)

Beetle armor with scale mail:

Stats (full set):
  • +61 defense.
  • +8% melee crit chance.
  • +14% melee dmg.
  • +12% melee speed.
  • +12% movement speed.
  • Total of +500 agro.
  • Beetle might effect: while dealing damage to enemies with a melee weapon you will get extra damage and melee speed by increments of 10% till 30%. This deplees fast while not attacking.
Avability:
  • Same as beetle armor with the shell, but instead you craft the scale mail.
Shinobi infiltrator armor

1707253776250.png

Stats (full set):
  • +54 defense.
  • +20% melee dmg.
  • +20% melee speed.
  • +60% summon dmg.
  • +25% melee crit chance.
  • +30% movement speed.
  • +3 sentry slots.
  • Buff to lighting aura sentries.
Avability:
  • Same as valhalla armor.
Comparison
  • For offensive shinobi has less damage and melee speed than beetle with scale mail, but on the other hand those are always active unlike beetle might rapidly depleing if not you are not dealing damage.
  • Shinobi´s extra sentry slots alongside buffing lighing aura staff may be better for the pillars, though not as useful as valhalla with ballista staff.
  • Beetle armor is much easier to obtain than shinobi.
  • Shinobi´s extra summon dmg makes side summons stronger, which may be enough to compete with beetle armor.
Opinion

Beetwen shinobi and beetle armor here id´ say beetle may be better (unlike valhalla vs beetle shell), it´s buff to lighting sentries is not as useful as the valhalla one, not to mention this one only has raw stats, no regen, no special buff for damage and melee speed, nothing.

Though if farming OOA T3 it will sure be much better.

Conclusion

For whatever build you wanna do it´s up to you and even then OOA armor may not shine by having it´s entire set, but rather by the potential of mixing, any class can use valhalla chest piece to have some good defense, insane regen, and extra summon damage. Shinobi chest piece also gives nice summon bonus + melee speed.

In the end it´s up to you what to choose...

Alright im finished, tell me if I missed anything important or any tweak I could make in this post.

in my opinion, absolutely nothing can beat the sheer offensive potential that beetle scale set bonus grants, especially if you're using the terra blade which gains dps from both the incrementing damage and speed boost. the only reason solar armor could even keep pace with it is due to the massive critical strike chance bonus the helmet gives.

defensively speaking, it's a bit more complicated, beetle shell set bonus can take alot of the punch out of harder hitting attacks, but has no regenerative bonus, while the valhalla set does, and even gives alot of melee bonuses on top of, but loses the damage resistance effect. i suppose as stated, it's really up to individual preference
