Official Terrarian
The game has many ways to change the look and style of your character. We have accessories for the head, hands, shoes, hair, later we have capes, balloons, Royal Scepter, shields, medallions, belt accessories, colored yo-yo cords and fishing lines, colored golf balls, Rainbow Cursor, monoliths, tails and Critter Shampoo. And in 1.4.5. voice accessories will be added. However, despite this, the player has less than 10 cosmetic slots at his disposal. We are talking about something purely decorative, so it should be possible to customize our appearance more with accessories.
For example, when playing I like to equip the blue fishing line and blue golf ball, Treasure Magnet, Flame Walker Boots and Shark Tooth Necklace in vanity slots. In classic mode, that's it. I will not put on a tail, cape, Halo, Band of Starpower or anything else.
That's why I propose expanding or reworking the vanity slot system.
First, the idea for expansion is quite simple, you need to add a second row of vanity slots. The simplest solution, looking from the right: one functional accessory slot, one vanity slot, one dye slot, second vanity slot, second dye slot. The second row (further from the functional) will not have the ability to quickly swap accessories or insert accessories without cosmetic effect.
Secondly, the idea of a rework, adding a new vanity menu next to the house menu and equipment menu. The new menu will have a separate, labeled slot for each slot where you can place an accessory with the vanity feature. For example:
• Head Slot, where you can place accessories like the Obsidian Skull or Scuba Set
• Hand Slot, where you can place accessories like the Golden Ring or Bone Glove
• Balloon Slot, where you can place balloon accessories
• String Slot, where you can place colored string
• Golf Ball Slot, where you can place colored golf ball
• Music Box Slot
• Monolits Slot
• Critter Shampoo Slot
• Voice Accessory Slot
• Wings Slot (for vanity purposes only)
• Special slot for Rainbow Cursor (with hide/show option)
Current vanity slots will remain for players who use them for quick swaps (you can even rename them to replacement slots), but slots from the vanity menu will take priority in terms of how your character's appearance is displayed.
This way, players will have greater (in the case of an expansion) or complete (in the case of a rework) control over their character's appearance.
