Biomes & Nature Vertigo Houses

The Destroyer
Floating Islands are bizarre places: a chunk of ground suspended in air with mysterious house. Why not make it more bizarre? My suggestion is: Vertigo House. It's like normal sky house, but will appear only one per world and be... upside-down. It would look like this: (please, ignore the fact that it's actually normal house with gravitation effect :))
dTr7IyB.png

That silver banana on the door is supposed to be moon
As you can see, the furniture is also upside-down and it uses silver/purple theme, rather than gold/blue. It doesn't have any special purpose, it's just a strange house on bottom of the island, instead of the normal one.

BUT, the furniture is unique. Instead of being placed on the floor, like normal furniture would, this one is placed ON CEILING. Yes, it's an upside-down furniture. It is called "Vertigo Furniture Set", so we have Vertigo Bed, Vertigo Door, Vertigo Chest, etc. Beside it's unique placement, it has additional effect of increased function range, meaning you can interact with it from greater distance. It's that so you don't have hook to ceiling just to use workbench, because your room is high. The furniture is sky/moon themed as opposite to Skyware sky/sun.

The houses are made of Moonplate Block
ffnHSLo.png
. It's used at Skymill to create Vertigo Furniture.
And the chests in houses have their normal loot, but wit addition of 1-2 Gravitation Potions (and two items described below).
And for the banners on the image, the Gravity Banner could be inverted, being the floor standing banner. I should have removed the World Banner from concept screenshot as it's not part of this suggestion :indifferent:

Expanded idea
Originally this topic covered only what is above. But it pleases for more gravity-related content.

Anti-Gravel
The anti-gravity gravel. So clever. It appears in large ammounts at the island with vertigo house. It's like sand, but falls upwards. It can't be used as elevator and will make you suffocate when you are trapped. It's also a material for some gravity-themed items, which are crafted at Workbench (or Skymill?).

Since each world has one Vertigo island, it's a very limited resource. Thus, it has a crafting recipe:

Gravity Glowstick
Like normal glowstick, but instead falls upwards.

Gravity Bomb
Bomb falling upwards with slightly bigger 110 damage.

Gravity Arrow
Again, arrow that will rather fly up than fall. Their damage is 9.

Anti-Gravity Arrow
This arrow won't fall, flying straight it's way. It applies also Upfall debuff. 15 damage.

Vertical Hammer
Damage: 40
Use time: 20
Knockback: 15
Special effect: It will send enemies flying very high vertically. Enemies will take damage from falling and won't de-spawn until they return on-screen (so propelling them out of screen won't cause de-spawn). Additional trait is that its swung in opposite direction than other weapons: from down to up.

And these are the two items that appear in Vertigo Chest:
J1qetgG.png
Gravity Staff
Mana: 50
Use Time: 40
Effect: When used, will create an anti-gravity field at the cursor with 4-5 block radius. Enemies caught in the field, will get Upfall debuff making them fly upwards for few seconds and then they take damage from falling down.
Note: It may look like axe, but it was supposed to be two opposite arrows representing it's gravity control effect (yay for my spriting skills).

Super Glue
Accessory
Effect: Allows to place any furniture on ceiling.
Note: Suggested by @Baconfry . Personally I think that vertigo set should be unique, but I'll just leave it here.

Upfall
"You are falling in wrong direction!"
Debuff caused by Anti-Gravity Arrow/Bullet/Staff. Just like gravitation, but can't be controlled. Maybe there should be also an enemy inflicting this.

So it's a suggestion that can be completely simulated with the soon-to-be-implemented Gravity Globe and a bunch of paint? I don't understand why

This is a good idea, though. I hope we'll find a way to add this independently.

Well, the furniture is unique: it can only be placed on the ceiling. You can't achieve this with Gravity Globe as you can't have furniture that would appear "on the floor" with changed gravity. Hope you understand the point.

Then add an accessory that allows the wearer to place any furniture on the ceiling, simple.

It's all about diversity. Why do we have different colored blocks, if there is a paint?

Well actually it would be cool to have, in the moon chest, either a gravmill (change it, it looks bad since we have sky mill already, or actually make the sky mill work with both sunplate and moonplate) or that accessory that allows placing stuff on the ceiling (and, why not, walls, though i wouldn't see how it would be implemented).
Also, Moonplate is silver and purple (imo should be silver and black) while sunplate is gold and blue, meaning you can't obtain a facsimile of the other just by painting it.
Maybe add, on vertigo islands, small deposits of Gravitinic sand, a special sand which:
-Falls upwards, in both block and item form;
-Can be used to smelt Gravity glass which is used either in:
. -Gravity Orb, an accessory which has a chance to make enemies switch gravity and fall upwards;
. -Antigrav Boots, can hold antigrav for 5 seconds, recharges when touching the ground in normal gravity, is crafted at tinkerer's workshop with spectre boots;
. -Gravswitch arrows and bullets which inflict the same debuff as Gravity Orb;
. -Gravity Staff: Gravity Orb + 15 Demonite/Crimtane bars, shoots out a big, slow purple ball which inflicts the Gravity Orb devuff upon contact;
-Vertigo lightsources.

Though B-Fry makes valid points, I like this suggestion a lot nonetheless! Cliched, perhaps - but something about the idea of a polar opposite to the treasure house, the sun - really appeals to me, haha. Can't help but think making the upside-down furniture would be a real pain to code, though... but even just the idea of a randomly-generated topsy-turvy lunar temple is sweet!

I already wanted to add some of these ideas. Just updated the OP.
-Vertigo lightsources.
Don't know what you mean by this. Each furniture set has a lamp, chandelier etc. and so has Vertigo. But maybe there could be some torches placed upside-down...?

I mean you should make the lamps, chandeliers, candelabras... with Gravitinic Sand instead of torches.
Also make the arrows infict that gravity debuff, having arrows that fall upwards and do slightly more damage and are horribly rare are rather bad, this should have an effect similar to the gravity staff (make it somewhat less bulky and purple (I originally thought of a metal rod with a purple orb on top and two small green and red arrows that are just below the orb, much like the ones in the gravity control buff.

I just added some items, debuff and crafting recipe for Anti-Gravel (which makes sense if you leave your logic behind).

This is getting superb. I'm not sure about that blend-o-matic thing however, maybe add a crafting ingredient that is harder to obtain than sand? Souls of light/night are rare enough, though it should be something that makes sense...
Maybe 4 Sunplate + 1 Moonplate + Soul of Night = 5 Moonplate (blend-o-matic) and Moonplate + 3 Sand + Anti-Gravel = 3 Anti-Gravel.
Also 4 Moonplate + 1 Sunplate + Soul of Light = 5 Sunplate.
It's crap, but it's all I can offer at the moment.

I like the idea. The blocks, furniture, and ammo/weapons are quite cool.

I love how basic the concept is

Gravity potion and a bunch of painting + reskinning the door a bit huehue

I think this could develop a lot, but it is already very good. Just one thing, would you want it to have anything to do with the upcoming Lunar Event? Just a thought.

Why would I? We don't even know what this event is. It's just random upside-down house. For flavor. And some other things.
