What lighting mode are you using? They show up OK for me, so I suspect lighting is the difference and is causing an impact to the snapshots.

Lighting mode: Color
I tried screenshots with all the lighting modes below to troubleshoot:
1: Color
2: White
3: Retro
4: Trippy

So looks as if I would *have* to be in either retro or trippy to take screenshots?

Thank you for the information! I was using Trippy at the time, so it appears it was indeed the lighting affecting it. I will add this to the camera mode issues report I am compiling.

If you're compiling them, then I have another one: 'Waves' will affect the screenshot even if there are no waves in the actual screen.
1: Screenshot taken with F12 with 'Wave Quality: High'
2: Screenshot in-game with 'Wave Quality: High' (notice the warping around the lower area; it's more profound if a smaller shot is taken)
3: Screenshot in-game with 'Wave Quality: None' (notice lack of warping)

(It is built in an underwater dome, with all the water drained out)

By smaller shot, I mean zoomed in like this:
1: 'High'
2: 'None'

@Sigma90
Another oddity to add: taking pictures from a long distance doesn't interfere with the picture of the vines.
Lighting: Color. Snapshot taken using Map Mode (while being a long way away, in the underground):
