The issue I found is a visual glitch that happens when the tiles surrounding a wall are filled with glass, then the glass is replaced with some other block, then that block is broken. This effect is identical to walls that have been surrounded by Echo Walls.
Here I have shown this glitch using Chlorophyte Brick Walls, Cog Walls, and Cobalt Brick Walls (for no particular reason):
(1) Just the walls:
(2) The walls covered in Glass Blocks:
(3) The walls whose cover has been replaced with Iron Bricks:
(4) The walls with some of the Iron Bricks removed:
(5) The walls fully exposed:
Note that this is not an issue when placing blocks on walls and breaking them, it seems to only occur when the solid blocks have been swapped in for Glass Blocks (I don't know if Glass is the only block that can do this, though other solid blocks don't have an issue)
Here are the same walls partially revealed after being covered with (only) Iron Bricks (no issue):
As I said, the effect is identical to walls surrounded by Echo Walls, though this glitch does not persist after reloading the world.
Here are the walls surrounded by Echo Blocks:
This effect is also present on all Fences (not surprising as they're all just walls with holes), as shown with Lead Fence:
This bug isn't hard to reproduce, but here are the steps to follow:
1. Place any wall (size of walled area has no effect)
2. Surround that wall or those walls with Glass Blocks (including the tiles where the walls are)
3. Use Block Swap to change all the glass to any solid block
4. Destroy the new blocks
Here are some images of the same effect in a more compact format (Chlorophyte Bricks, same order):

Yep, am able to reproduce. Thanks for the detailed report!
