to that 1% of you who actually do the old one's army event, have you ever used this weapon?or perhaps, you have tried it,seen its underwhelming performance, and tossed it in a chest without a second thought。maybe you have even defeated the event multiple times and gotten the flying dragon as well, but its better damage and range was much more satisfactory, making you forget that the cool spinning lightning stick also existed?well,me too!and for how unique the weapon is,i believe it needs some love and appreciation to lift it out of the shadows of its projectile sword counterpart。
when asked to think of an example of a pair of short and long ranged same-class weapons, one might name the razorblade typhoon and the bubble gun duo。those 2 weapons are incredibly capable of balancing each other out。the razorblade typhoon excels in long ranged bossfight and event situations, and the bubble gun is perfect for close ranged issues with slow/player chasing enemies which its insane damage is able to take care of no problem。however, that is not the case with the flying dragon and the sky dragon's fury。not only does the flying dragon have far superior range, more accurate projectiles, and the convenience of those projectiles being able to pass through walls,it also has better dps than the sky dragon's fury when comparing their bare projectiles,AND in close range。the sky dragon's fury's only benefit over the flying dragon is that its right click ability can shoot 3 electrosphere projectiles (albeit pretty inaccurate),and they can linger for a while, but comparing that minuscule advantage to its many disadvantages only makes it seem like wasted potential。increasing its damage will allow the 2 weapons to have a similar dynamic to the 2 duke fishron weapons, making both of them viable to use at the same time。
close ranged:
sky dragon's fury: ~700
flying dragon: ~1200
projectile only:
sky dragon's fury: ~520
flying dragon: ~570
do note that this is tested without damage buffs with dummies。

in conclusion, the sky dragon's fury can do great things, but it just falls short of the spotlight it deserves, due to being that weapon。you know the one。the one that people are disappointed about obtaining, having to go through that bossfight/event again because it just is not good enough compared to the other weapons capable of being obtained at that same point in progression。give it a much needed buff, and maybe, just maybe, people will consider fighting the old one's army with the sky dragon's fury in mind。
