Weapons & Equip what if brand of the inferno’s parry but for all true melee weapons?

The brand of the inferno is neat. This isn’t because of any bias either (I don’t play dungeon defenders) I like its ability to parry. It allows you to get a lot closer to enemies than you would be able to otherwise with just defence. I wish I could use it more though, I usually never get it because it’s locked behind the old one’s army and it gets outclassed pretty quickly.

Evidently, I like it’s parrying but the weapon itself is kinda meh, if there was somehow a way to just rip the parry mechanic away from it and be able to use it with other weapons (idk shimmer it and get the brand and the inferno separately) then I’d be doing it all the time.
But for the sake of people not using this thing with summoner and parrying all of a boss’ attacks whilst minions whittle them down, this mystical new accessory (or whatever you decide will allow universal parrying) is exclusive to true melee weapons and could only be used when one is held, so you’ll actually have to use the parry offensively instead of being a little dumb baby coward.

Also just for the sake of the now gimmickless brand of the inferno, it could get some special functionality when parrying with it.
 
I made a similar suggestion about a week ago, which is just a tinker of the Paladin’s Shield and Sergeant United Shield. You could RMB while holding any melee weapon to parry an attack and gain the striking moment buff, granting +400% damage to your next melee attack. Of course, it would also provide the benefits of the Paladin’s Shield.

I guess yeah it could technically be used by other classes to parry attacks, but they could do that anyway just by having the BOTI (+shield) or the SUS in their loadouts. By making the accessory require holding a melee weapon to activate the parry, it remains just as difficult for other classes to parry but makes it easier for melee users.

Exactly! I’d love to see things like parrying an attack and then dashing at an enemy in my solar armor to “shield bash” with +400% damage on the solar shield explosion.
